It's time for a wonderful contest to celebrate the 10th anniversary of THQ Nordic! To join, simply tell us about your favorite memory of all time related to playing video games.

You will have a chance to win 1 of 10 bundles including Darksiders III, Biomutant, Gothic 1, Kingdoms of Amalur, Titan Quest, Destroy All Humans!, ELEX, Desperados III, Outcast 1.1 and Expeditions: Viking! The contest ends on November 19th, 4 PM UTC.
Like most people, it has an old-fashioned beginning, hahaha, but I'm sure it happened when I was a child. At that time, many families had poor economic conditions, you know, so I bought a pirated CD at a stall. It's a game called Xianjian Qixia biography in Chinese. The plot is probably a story about a young boy's excellent martial arts, cutting demons and eliminating demons, But one of the stories that impressed me deeply was the story of a writer falling in love with a butterfly goddess. The writer was dying of a disease. The butterfly goddess gave her life to save him because the writer saved a butterfly when she was a child. The butterfly later became a human to repay her kindness, This story is a little cliche, but it also makes me understand that human beings and nature are in a relationship of mutual assistance and love~
My first home console is WiiU.
Though this is a stupid idea today, I don't regret, actually. Because I had been watching others playing video games since childhood, my family didn't allow me to own one.

As for my favorite time playing video games, I decision is Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. Captain Toad is a simple, delighted, challenging 3D puzzle game. This experience remains emblazoned in my memory.

My favorite time playing games IS NOW. Basically I have after all this time FOUND THE BEST companies to purchase from. Here is my EASY TO FOLLOW LIST. I have been video gaming since it has been a commercial thing, over 4 decades in total. MY FAVORITE AND MOST RECOMMENDED PURVEYOR OF DIGITAL CONTENT IS ABSOLUTELY #1 GOG.COM. Number 2 is Steam games. Tied for #3 are Epic & UbiSoft.
So because I have figured out this simple order, I now have any game I wish to play ANYTIME I wish to play it...that to me is currently my best experience so far in gaming. The reason why epic games is the best of any of those four companies are pretty obvious to anyone who is a fan. Yet I will make this part simple also. DRM FREE is how I wish my collection to be, and also they give away games for FREE with just as much frequency as the other great in the industry for this Epic. So you have THE BEST of both worlds.

It's also helpful that they put so much effort into their releases, making them function on modern hardware right out of the box, that shows some special attention to detail. So games that I have played ages ago I can do more than just reminisce about. Well, I will leave this just as a short response for now. After all I have all the important basics in here. Thanks people for your time and attention, and also for ENTRY INTO THE CONTEST! (and hopefully winning hahah)
Having a blast with Expeditions Vikings, pulling on my supposed Nordic roots, and watering them in the blood of enemies.
My favorite moment is when I first discovered MOBAs (Dota 2). Nothing like controlling small heroes from above.

Huh, another long running series there it seems, latest just released.
I was around 10 years old when the first Painkiller game was released. I was instantly hooked on this game.

Everytime after school, I would come home and play painkiller. My mom asked me what I was doing and I just said "painkiller"

After a while my mom got paranoid and thought I was really taking painkillers and she thought I would overdose on the painkillers or something.

One day my mom was outside my room and asked me what I was doing ?
I said "painkiller". She rushed into the room thinking i was taking actual painkillers but found me playing the game on the pc.

Very awkward moment but it cleared up the misunderstanding.

I am in.
My favourite video gaming memory is actually a quite recent one.

I have always been a single player gamer, except the occasional card battle game online. However, sometimes we play co-op games with my wife (the likes of Dungeon Siege 3, Divinity Original Sin, etc.) and recently our 8-year old son also started getting into gaming too, so we decided to all play Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime (or, how we call it, "Space Bunnies") together. It took us a couple of weeks to beat the game, and it was a blast all the way through, with me as the Drunk Space Driver, my wife as the Energy Shield Maiden and our son as the Frantic Laser Gunner.

This has been a an eye-opening experience for me, revealing a whole new level of enjoyment when it comes to video games. It also gave our son enough cofidence with a gamepad that he has since started getting into more complex games, like Breath of the Wild.

I really can't recommend "Lovers..." enough for family gaming, it is adorable, simple to pick up, and fun.
Playing Amnesia at night with lights off biting my lips and jumping out of the chair in the smallest of sound.
Fun times, now i'm too old for this.
Dear THQ Nordic, one of my best memories out of your games was definitely free running with a longbow in a medieval forest of Gothic 2 World. If you care for my feelings/memories please make Gothic 2 available on Gog.com as only Gold/patched with DLC version I available and that is a completely different game (great but different). I really miss my memory and you will win my contest by making a clean version available here. Thank you in a name of many.
my favorite of all time that relates to gaming is getting my first console ever (ps2) and playing a lot of need for speed carbon at the age of 5. It was an amazing time which is the reason for why i enjoy racing game so much
low rated
If you ever think that life is treating you like a bitch, remember that there is someone out there somewhere that will receive the Outcast 1.1 game key as a reward for participating in the contest, on the very same store that has an active giveaway of the mentioned game, that will last for three days.

Cavalary: That's one prize definitely accounted for :)
Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed my writing, storytelling, reminiscing...and that you have an opinion. :)

For those curious: I bought Bloodlines for $25 (before tax) at Best Buy in its retail box incarnation, when it was on sale, way back in the day. I love that game to death.

I really do hope Bloodlines 2 gets finished and gets salvaged...and in an excellent and a hopefully seamless way too, given all the madness that went down w/ that sequel's development.

fedayi.92: Playing for the first time my most anticipated game ever, Doom 3, on a brand new Radeon 9800 XT. I will never forget that feeling.
If you can remember - how well did it run back then? And at what settings? Was it at 30fps? 60fps?

PeterTechGuy: It has to be with Crysis! The first time I play the game, I was completely amazed by its visuals and audio, even though it was in the lowest graphical settings at 800 x 600.
So what you're saying here is...it could actually run Crysis? ;)

I do remember that I played at 1024x768, High Quality and all settings in advanced options turned on except Vsync and AA. I vaguely remember the framerate, though. I think it was around 40fps, more or less, but I was very green at the time in terms of PC gaming expertise, and I believe I didn't even install the latest GPU drivers for this game, I simply didn't knew I should. The whole system wasn't particularly optimized, albeit pretty powerful for the time. Judging by the old benchmarks of Doom 3 running on 9800 XT, it should've ran better on my hardware than it actually did, especially since I didn't use anti-aliasing. I remember it ran better on my friend's 9800 Pro, which is a shame, to say the least xD

Doom 3 was more of an indoor corridor shooter, while Crysis was more open in its maps and it also was often outdoors. And also, Crysis had INSANE amounts of fidelity. Doom 3 also didn't have tons of enemies on-screen all the time, when compared to say the older Doom games and also compared to even Crysis.

Both were definitely cutting edge stuff, for their time period and all.

If anything, I think Crysis was bound to run worse than Doom 3, IMHO. Glad you got it running at an okay framerate, by back then's standards.

Both Doom series and Crysis series rock, IMHO.
