Yup, seen that L-shaped one too.

VeTrack: For those interested, you can vote here. Though it's more complicated than before as they'll ask for your demographic and reasons behind your selection. If anybody does go through with it and has trouble with translating, just let me know.
I wasn't even familiar with the current number 1. At least Haikyu!! is in there this time but even so, I'm surprised to see none of the big 3 in there for instance. Usually mainstream stuff is the first thing that would make it on a list like this. Detective Conan, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece etc. Cardcaptor Sakura made it at least.
Digimon Adventure is in there, yay. RIP Wada Kouji (damn, has it already been almost a year?).

That versatility does makes it look very comfy!

WBGhiro: There's something cooky going on in these twitter polls.
Most likely because the majority of Japanese Twitter users belong to a certain demographic, but just for the record, this doesn't require Twitter at all! You just need to give a nickname, age, gender, location and reasons behind your vote, there's a chance your vote might be shown on the website and/or TV. You can vote up to 3 times daily but not multiple times on the same choice each day.

Yeah, some are still on the list but outside Top 30. For example, One Piece is at 45th... Anyway, I'm pretty sure Sakura got a boost because of its sequel manga which just started last year, the anime will arrive next year!

VeTrack: There's an ongoing vote at NHK for Best Anime as part of Anime's 100th Anniversary and the interim results are... strange.

Putting aside the weird decision to separate anime by season and allowing the same series to hold onto multiple spots, this is supposed to be a ranking for the Best Anime out of 100 years of Anime! Definitely have mixed feelings about this and I fully expect some significant changes before it is over, unlike the TAAF's.

*shrug* Such a thing is obviously very subjective, there's (probably) never going to be a "Top XX" or "Best whatever of all time" that everyone can agree on. If it's fans voting, like in this case, the most popular would probably be at the top. If it's some panel of critics deciding, then the most depressing or sad would be at the top.

Aye, but there's also a certain degree of differentiation one would expect from such a list. Let's be perfectly honest, how many people have heard of Tiger & Bunny vs how many people have heard of One Piece? I'm perfectly fine with the list if it was narrowed down to a more specific genre or time period. T&B is good but Best Anime ever? I doubt it.

Also, quite a number of those in the Top 30 are relatively recent (quite understandable) even though the list pools from everything that was TV broadcast for the past 100 years. I guess this might just be a simple case of low awareness. After all, the poll isn't something routine, it was specifically created as part of the 100th Anniversary program. Either way, it'll be very interesting to see how the final results differ from this one come March.

Apparently lost... somewhere outside the Top 50.

VeTrack: everything that was TV broadcast for the past 100 years.
Just want to correct myself there, it's not just TV broadcast but practically everything, including OVA, films, events, etc... This also means that the more seasons, films, OVAs a series has, the more diluted its votes are...
avatar
Licurg: WTF, where's Trigun?
This list is about the best anime :P

Though, I can understand your confusion, seeing Sword Garbage Online there.

What about that manga? IxB SS is one of those series whereby the anime fails to represent the source material adequately, it doesn't even come close. To put into perspective, what was shown in the anime doesn't even cover the prologue in the manga, it's more like just the first half of the prologue... The plot is also structured in a certain way and direction that you wouldn't expect from just watching the anime. I'm being vague so as to not spoil anything but if you liked the 2nd last episode, you should at least find out what happens after that and how far the story really goes.
been watching KONO SUBARASHII SEKAI NI SHUKUFUKU WO! 2

Solid kickback and relax series if you ask me. might get it on Blu ray if it comes out here.
Just started watching Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, and I'm loving it so far! Just dropped by here to say that, it's midnight here.
Apparently Konosuba's second season's BD release has a game bundled with it and it looks really nice:

And of course it in moonrunes only. The first season's BD had a rpg-maker game bundled with it. I wish I had the time to learn japanese I'd really like to play them.

Yeah, the first game wasn't a surprise to me since RPGMaker is Enterbrain's and Enterbrain is the subsidiary of Kadokawa Corp. But this second one, lol... I wonder if Capcom already knew about this. Not only is the jump exactly the same, but so is the sliding dash. And his sword attack can be charged up to fire off a bigger arc! ;D

I haven't seen it yet, but when that KonoSuba 2 Ep.1 was released, some people were complaining about its quality? What's that all about?
