Zeraphine: Its not a complete Windows 10 issue, its the grafix card and Windows 10!

I can play it with a trick fine in Windows 10, but my friend not! I have a GTX 555, my friend a 760 GT!
What's the trick you use?

My machine has a GTX 970. Since I installed Windows 10, intro videos don't work, in-game clicking doesn't work, the game freezes. Another laptop I have around (also win 10) has a geforce 820m. There the game launches just fine, everything works but it's noticeably slow even though the machine far surpasses the hardware requirements.

uber87: We need a fix for windows 10
I have the same problem, we need a fix for windows 10
I have a fix (win 10 pro x64 gtx 980 with latest nvidia drivers)

You must autorize in your antivirus software (gdata in my case) and in your windows firewall Dracula 3. Point a directory in your av or simply exe in firewall and voila...it works

edit: Don't forget to go to Nvidia Control Panel and turn off Vsync for reduce flickering

Thanks very much, but the problem is always the same :(

However the problem is not only Nvidia, but even Intel

By Intel the game works good apart the problem of the black screen, so microids should release a fix as still life
I've got the same problem ! Black screen, no vids, no cursors, but sounds and game screen... Nothing works on it. The shame is Dracula 1 and 2 (and 4 and 5) work really good !
Hi,

i have the same problem @WIN10 :o(

Solution found! Right click on "dracula 3.exe" Properties -> Compatibility -> Settings for all users -> mode with reduced colors -> 8 BIT. Done: o)

Details on the Screenshot.

Excuse the bad English.

Thank you so much for this!

I was about to watch Let's plays of the game because i thought that it was completely unplayable in modern systems. It still runs at 16fps though but that's still better than nothing. I just want to add that this fix requires full screen mode. This was the case for me at least.

But do you run the game by Nvidia or Integrated graphics card?????
No, I use a AMD R9 290 @Crimson 16.7.2 with Win10
Thank you Taridan! After months of frustration, it works!

For my configuration:
Windows 10 Home
Radeon R9 290 (Radeon software 16.3.2, driver package 16.15.2211)

solution is:
1. game must run in fullscreen (windowed shows only logos and intro)
2. Taridan's fix (8 bit color for all users, current user, even administrator, doesn't work)
3. game is excluded in Windows Defender (whole directory + dracula3.exe process)

It's also set to run as administrator, but I don't know if it matters.

I remember I tinkered with config.ini settings, searching for a solution, but I don't remember if I reverted the changes, so here is my current config.ini, just in case:

[OPTION]
MIXING=S
SAVE=1
SPEED=-1
SUBTITLE=1
AMBIENT=100
SFX=100
VOICE=100
LOC=US

bUseHardware=1
bUse32BitsSprites=1
bUse32BitsScreen=1
bFullScreen=1
bScreenResolution=2
dataset=2
nProfiles=0
nBright=100
nVolume=100
nVolume1=60
nVolume2=100
nVolume3=80
bSoftBilinear=0
bCenterMouse = 1
bContextualHelp=1
bFilterEffects = 1
bBobEffect = 1
[INSTALL]
PATH=.\datas

[EDIT]
I was too quick with rejoicing. The game works, but flickering and frame ghosting makes the game unplayable :(

Hi all. I am running this game on Windows 10 and have been going through all of the posts trying to change every setting known to man in order to make the cinematics work, get the cursor to appear once I am in the game, get the menu to appear in the game, and make the subtitles appear to no avail.

I tried changing the properties of the exe file but nothing worked so I set them all back to default. No compatibility mode, no reduced resolution, etc. I did not mess with the Nvidia Control Panel settings.

Nothing worked. Then for giggles I actually ran the "Launch Dracula 3 - The Path of the Dragon" found in the game folder on my hard drive. I right clicked on it and did "Run as administrator" as I do for all games when opening them....and it worked! Not kidding, everything in the game works!

Could this be the actual solution? Running the direct executable file does not work. But, for whatever reason, running the Launch Dracula 3 file as an Admin works flawlessly.

Can other people please test this out and let me know if it works? I am running the most current version of Windows 10, 64-bit with all current updates.

My rig is:

Intel i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
16 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 760, Driver version 375.95
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, most current build with all current updates

It didn't work for me, black screen with the 1.04v.

Win 10 Pro 64 Bit
Intel i7-6700HQ 2.60 GHz
GTX 970M
16 GB Ram
Ok, after Anniversary Update The Game is now unplayable too, even with the Borderless Tool!
I noticed GOG stopped listing the game as Windows 10 compatible. If any of you doesn't feel like waiting for a fix that may or may not come, you could probably ask for a refund. As for me, I installed Windows 8.1 on my second harddrive and dual-booted till I finished the game. Installing 8.1 took me far less time and frustration than trying out all these fixes and googling.
