Is there something like EasyTutu Spawn Randomizer for non-Tutu BG1? The default spawning annoys me, as I explain here, but I'd rather not use Tutu, if possible.
How do I know for sure that the GUI mod, BG1 Cosmetic tweaks, and text update worked correctly? I only ask because it took 2-3 installs and uninstalls with the widescreen mod before the game stopped appearing in a corner of the monitor. It randomly worked after I installed the game again (but before installing the widescreen patch again). I just want:

Widescreen
GUI Update
Bug fixes and text update
Weapon animation
Icon improvements
Force pause on dialog

This is my first time through the game and I want a clean, yet true to original experience playthrough.

edit: and now the game is in 4:3 again. I am so confused. I built a character and everything.

Is there a mod to speed up how fast the screen scrolls or how fast you can walk?

Using Config.exe or BGConfig.exe to up your AI Updates per second will speed up your walking.

Same here. I've applied the widescreen setup, to 1024x768 since my laptop only supports 800x600, 1024x768 or 1366x768 (which does not compute with the GUI-mod).

With these mods, is the game supposed to run in full screen, or just a better quality, mid-portion of the screen?

I've applied the same kinds of patches to planescape torment, and they seem to work just fine.

Any input? :)

I don't want to walk faster I want the screen to scroll by faster when the mouse is at the edge
I installed the widescreen mod and GUI mod. When I play the game I can't scroll to the left or down, which obviously makes the game completely unplayable. Does anybody know of any way to fix this?
I cannot for the life of me get BG1Tutu to work. I extract the files from the .exe and try to run the setup, but nothing happens. I've tried saving it on different drives, I've opened it as an administrator...any ideas?

Try deleting installshield.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\ & delete installshield directory.
or Program Files (x86)
You will need to change your folder options to show hidden files.
bananajane, you can change that in the game settings, ingame. theres a slider for it, and a slider for keyboard scrolling aswell.

thanks for this guide :)
I've installed the widescreen mod set to 1280x768, as well as the GUI mod. If I try to enter any building in Nashkel, or load a game which was saved while inside one, the game crashes to a black screen and I have to CTRL-ALT-DELETE. Any idea what's wrong?

Also, someone asked earlier about not finding the TWM_GUI.exe file. I was confused as well until I noticed that the file appears one level higher, in your root Baldur's Gate directory but not in the TWM folder.

EDIT: It's not just Nashkel. Whenever I enter ANY enclosed space, I get a black screen. If I ALT-TAB out of the game, I can't view any other windows, either. Everything is black until I CTRL-ALT-DELETE and close the game program.

EDIT2: Running as Administrator solves this problem, but savegames made while not running as administrator are not available.

When running the GOG launcher the save games are stored at this location.
C:\Users\"YOUR COMPUTER NAME"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com
Very convoluted place to save them and you will also need to see hidden folders to locate it manually.
When you run the game as Administrator the game makes a new save folder at this location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Baldurs Gate II\save
After installing the widescreen mod for BG1, my game looks like this:

I've tried several different resolutions with no success. Any help?

It looks like the GUI mod isn't installed--or if you did install it it must have had an error of some kind and aborted.

I did a quick pixel count on your screenshot and looks like you configured the widescreen mod for 1280x800 which *is* supported by the GUI mod, so that part is fine, at least.

Well I started using Baldur's Gate Trilogy and everything is fine now! :)
