- <span class="bold">Hacknet</span>
- <span class="bold">Hyper Light Drifter</span>
- <span class="bold">Two Worlds Epic Edition</span>
- <span class="bold">8-bit Armies</span>

JudasIscariot: BTW, I've been meaning to ask you, the German-speaking community, how would you like German language updates delivered?

Do you want us to get them out ASAP, basically individual updates here and there, or do you prefer to have a bunch of games updated with the German language in bundles like we did with the Community Language Pack?
avatar
honx: i would prefer asap.
what about german versions of memoria and dark eye: chains of satinav?
these two games are available with german localization everywhere else, except gog.
Hmmm nothing we can do about this ourselves as it's really up to Daedalic themselves if they wish to offer the German versions of those two games here. Remember, we are only a distributor and we shouldn't attempt to force our partners to do something against their will.

turrican05: Hallo GOG,

Then it is a great luck that we, the customers are still allowed to contact Daedalic about this without fearing any consequences. I already had my share of conversations in the past with them and in the end I got what I (and we all) wanted. So maybe if Daedalic continues to be quiet about the questions from the mentioned community member I will have to contact them myself again. Even Daedalic has to see that it is plain unfair to offer a DRM-free version of a game from theirs with German language on one distribution platform but not on another. As I said they may have an exclusive deal with humble (don't know about that) but at least they should answer to a question from buyers regarding this matter.

ASAP. :) When a game is ready, release it. Why delay it?

As we never know on which games you are currently working we may unnecessarily download German language packs and fiddle around with them ourselves while the German version on GOG is already completed, but only the release is delayed. Not good!

When you mean the announcements in this thread, I do not care much if you announce the updated games individually or in a batch, as long as the announcements are not delayed by months. I loosely follow the "what did just update?" thread anyway and still hope that some day the blue update flags will work reliably. ;)

Alright, we'll see what we can do about publishing the games ASAP as soon as they are ready then :)

The thing is, I was hoping to do some bundles or packs as I like to think it promotes the German language and the German-speaking community much more than singular updates buuuuut if you guys really want them ASAP we'll do what we can to accommodate you as best as we can :)

Also, I just like dropping 15-20 German versions all at once on you guys because of the "shock and awe" effect :P

Well, why not simply delay the news but not the updates? Wouldn't it be possible to make a promotion afterwards like "The last 5 weeks we have updated the following games ... we love you Germans" or something like it. As far as I can say I don't really care about this being a big news as long as I got the update itself. As far as GOG is concerned maybe those news will attract new buyers and I can understand that you want the promotion.

"Shock and awe" is what we are living for. :)
Let those games be dropped upon us!

As MarkoH01 already has said, maybe delay and bundle the news about the updates to celebrate them and attract more (German speaking) customers.

I like these numbers. It somehow sounds as if that many German updates are planned already. :D

Ok. But you can ask Deadelic, if you could sell these games with german translations....So I think there are 3 resons, why they Deadilic won't that:
1. Deadelic is not interested in their buyers on gog
2. gog want to much money for distribution

I think it is a shake hand deal during distributor and publisher. Isn't it? You want to sell games and a Publisher want to sell games. So why they are not interested to sell the german version of the games here on gog?

MarkoH01: snip

As I said it MAY be an exclusive deal between Daedalic and humble (for the DRM-free version). I also know that they had problems once because the dubbing was made not by themselves but by deep silver. I am quite sure that somewhere in between lies the reason. BUT what I want from Daedalic is to tell this reason to us, the buying customer.

But that's just what we did in this thread or am I missing something? :P

After all, all those updates have been out already for a bit :)
