Survival of the sweetest.

Long Live the Queen, a complex political thriller full of violence, hate, and tough choices, masked by deceptively cute visuals, is available on GOG.com for only $9.99.

Long Live the Queen is a brutal game. Your heroine will try to escape the many dangers awaiting a young heiress to the throne, and will often fail, ending up dead, leaving the kingdom at mercy of it's many enemies. Luckily, you'll be able to back up on your mistakes, probably just to witness another death of the princess. When you're but a child, suddenly burdened by the crushing weight of responsibility, every little decision you make might prove to be your last. This complex and challenging royalty sim will crush your hopes many times, before you manage to protect the princess until the day of her coronation. There are secret plots at play, invaders at the gates, dark magical forces hiding in plain sight, assassins lurking in the shadows, and way too many suitors trying to get their hands on the young heiress' heritage. With non-linear gameplay, and great depth this cute-looking title will take even the most experienced gamer by surprise!

If you thought that the life of a princess is full of bliss, ballroom dancing, cotton candy, and ponies, it's about time you faced the terrifying truth in Long Live the Queen, for only $9.99 on GOG.com.
If you want to try this game out, there's a demo on the Hanako Games site. http://www.hanakogames.com/llq.shtml#demo
Wishlisted.
Gameplay looks very interesting and I am not prejudiced against any anime-style visuals.
I for one support GOG to have more of such games.

And the person who created the GOGmix "Trash" without even trying out the game demo... Tsk.

This is true. Maybe the emphasis was on the unwittingly? I feel like I read about this one a while back and it had a lot of blindside trial and error.
low rated
One for the adolescence. Pass.
as a 32 year old man i've always fantasized about being a young heiress to a throne. thanks, gog.

Elmofongo: I really want more Monster Hunter here :(

xa_chan: Tried the last one on my 3DS, absolutely not my kind of game. But to each its own, I guess.

I'd love to see more japanese visual novels here on GOG, but I think I'm almost the only one in that case... -_-
Don't worry, I'd definitely be on board if someone could (make a miracle happen) re-release of Ever 17: the out of infinity happen - among some key others like:

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/remember_11_the_age_of_infinity

EDIT: Also, we really, really need Recettear on here: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/recettear_an_item_shops_tale

Also War of the Human Tanks! ---> http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/war_of_the_human_tanks

Wishbone: You know, repeating yourself here will not make the game card any less misleading for new readers.
I have the feeling
it's not the misleading
but rather misreading
causing all this grieving.

No offense meant. ;-)

ShadowWulfe: Nice, this is the one where you die if you unwittingly screw up right?
Nice to see GOG adding different styles.

JudasIscariot: I thought ALL games share that feature? :D
Not in the CODBLOB era!

Melhelix: 4th pic: Duke of Maree. Age 31. "You realize that you have just admitted to all your guests that you and I are having an affair."

Overview text: Being a Princess is not an easy job. Being a Queen is even harder. Especially when you're only fourteen years old...

Wishbone: Really? A nice Japanese game about pedophilia? Great release, GOG. Well done you.
Yeah, lets rewrite history!
Never in the past have older men married young women!

Also, the holocaust never happened!
Cute, complex, and similar to Princess Maker? Awesome ^^ !

G-Doc: :-(

This makes me very sad, actually.
No need to feel sad.
When I discovered the release, my first reaction was "mmh, manga-style-graphics...not my thing".
But then I read the description and watched the video, and my interest was piqued.

And after reading through the comment section, I just had to buy it...see, now you don't feel so sad anymore, right!? ;o)
Also; GOG please stop with all the releases and good deals. I've bought so much stuff in these last two weeks that I've memorized my freakin' credit card info and have like 7 copies of The Witcher sitting in my email account right now.

You can never have enough copies of The Witcher XD
Wow, there's a lot of comments, this game must be hotly anticipa- okay, never mind.

Gotta love that this is already on that "Trash" GOGmix that doesn't have any ratings or descriptions or reasoning. Seems like we love our niche indie games here, but if it's a niche ANIME-STYLE indie game, it better gtfo. Freaking racists. (it's a joke! it's a joke! it's a joke!)

I'll admit there's a bit of a "creep factor" here, but it seems like it's deliberately satirizing cutesy little girl games that would probably look the same.

Seems like a fun little title though. I'll check it out... when it's on sale, probably. I actually don't like adventure games where any little slip-up can kill you, but this seems like more of a sim/roguelike formula that I can get behind.
