@adalia - post #1000 - did you even read the paragraph above the line from me that you quoted... It starts "The next few hours" . Three players, besides me, had voted for CSPVG before he voted. If you're going to vote for me, at least have your facts straight.
avatar
adaliabooks: ...
But here's the thing that I find most odd about the wagon, and it's cristi's analysis of it.

avatar
cristigale: I believe those voting on CPSVG, prior to CSPVG’s vote on yogs, are town.
avatar
adaliabooks: If I'm not mistaken... the only person on CSPVG's wagon before he voted yogs (other than me, but I'm not sure anyone would include my random vote as making me townie) was cristi herself. So what she's basically saying is, that we should all assume she is town. That's more than a little suss to me...
It's entirely possible that cristi's vote on CSPVG was just meant to create distance between them for later days and she was not able to move it when his wagon actually picked up speed.
I don't like the implication of this little statement at all, and combined with some other warnings I think I shall
Vote cristigale
That's very odd of you to misunderstand cristi the way you did. Quite inattentive actually. Have you actually read her post? (and mine? which also might have helped you get what she's saying since it's referenced in her post)

Let's just quote the text you quoted by cristi in full and bold what it's all about.

cristigale: The next few hours were busy. This is where mchack’s recent description of events starts. Hijack claims and yogs unvotes him. In the span of 5 posts, CSPVG picks up votes from mchack, yogs, and dedo. Prior to that, I had the single vote on CSPVG. In the next post, Lift (while still suspicious of yogs) unvotes him. A few posts later, trent unvotes yogs. Roughly 20 posts later, CSPVG votes for yogs. This seems to seal his fate. Krypsyn votes CSPVG two posts later, followed shortly by agent and lift. Hyper votes for CSPVG soon after. Once CSPVG claims, Hijack hammers.

I assume that at least one scum bussed CSPVG. I also assume at least one scum was not on his wagon. Given the speed of the lynch, if we have 3 scum remaining, I’d lean toward one on and two off his wagon, but other combinations are possible. I believe those voting on CPSVG, prior to CSPVG’s vote on yogs, are town. Agent was town and I believe Hijack’s claim which leaves Krypsyn, Lift, and Hyper as the most likely to have bussed CSPVG.
So she's clearly talking from post #601 onwards. And you quote it as a reference to stuff happening way earlier, the whole hotheaded debate about "killing the useless" going on. When her stuff starts it's days later to that and your vote was long off cspvg as was cspvgs long off yogsloth.
What she means by "CSPVGs vote on yogsloth" it was at #667!!!
@hyper - post #992

I believe that yogs, mchack, and dedo are all part of the town group with direct knowledge about restrictions. (Along with a few others).

I did not intend to paint blue in a negative light. I'm not going kick a guy while he's down. He may be town, may not. Not going there Today. And again for the record, I have him leaning town, but no real proof of it.

I never called you on not voting. I'm using the name you used in past dead threads and mentioned here.. I don't remember you voting for anyone on day one in past games. That's why I found it surprising. Your apparent new boldness in voting day one lead me to believe this might be the scum version of Hyper.

I'm not purposefully delaying, I'm using the time available to me when I have it. My post #955 was posted 2 minuets after adalia posted #954. (At least that's what it said on my phone) I noticed adalia asked the same question but thought with the time difference it would be obvious I was ninjaed. I doubt anyone can back it up now. If you really thought it was an hour, perhaps my phone doesn't sync well. I did not see adalia's post until after I posted.

HypersomniacLive: @Krypsyn - given your stance on assumptions, this is a firm statement about HijacKs role, even though it's not the only way to confirm his role, and I think you know it.
HijacK said he was "Reserve" , so this implies that he is not the main one, but a back-up (I even thing he said as much). Thus, there is no way for him to prove his claim immediately unless the first Guru dies. If you mean that he could be confirmed by a role at Night? Possibly, but that would still give him another Night, as scum, and there is no guarantee that town has, or wold even use, that role on him.

I am at 5 votes. I was going to wait until 7 to claim, but I don't wait until the last moment and make this a fustercluck.

I am Bull (Town Overprotective Orderly). My role is a sort of Restriction-Blocker/Jailer, I guess, although it was never stated as such. I can target a person and take them to my room to keep them safe from bullying or intimidation by other contestants, but there is a chance I will block them from using their Night action. The ability will work on only those who that lack confidence in themselves and need sheltering.

My flavor is that I am a big, dumb guy, but I don't like to see people get hurt. Arriving at the island, I sense people were trying to make their lives better, but others would seek to thwart this.

I was never told HOW people were intending to make their lives better, so when I say yogsloth claim, I assumed he needed to do so to activate his role, or something similar. It is also why I was so skeptical of HijacK, since I had a similar role, and he was claiming that he was the 'back-up'.

This also implies that scum has a restrictor role, else why would my role even exist, and thus they may be privy to information some town players feel only they know.

@yogsloth Are you sure you were just roleblocked, or were you possibly restricted? Did you get any flavor one way or the other?

I didn't use my ability last night, because I didn't want to block a useful role by mistake, and choosing the right person is just insanely WIFOM.
Also,

Krypsyn: @yogsloth Are you sure you were just roleblocked, or were you possibly restricted? Did you get any flavor one way or the other?
Not sure how I would know the difference. Someone acted upon me in a way that would have blocked me from acting, had I acted.

are you now? Any inkling what character the Name Bull might refer to?

Going way back...

avatar
Krypsyn: Joker.
avatar
yogsloth: Hmmm, can't find that one on the Wiki.
avatar
Krypsyn: Perhaps you are checking the wrong one.
avatar
Krypsyn: There are such things as a Policy Lynch. I am not certain it would apply in this situation regarding yogsloth, however.
avatar
yogsloth: That's a very odd thing to bring up.

Did I somehow mis-type my role as "Vengeful Paranoid Gun Owner Nexus" or something?
avatar
Krypsyn: Nope. You merely said you were dealt a certain hand. I am left wondering how many cards were in the deck from which you were dealt, but that is a different subject matter entirely.
avatar
Krypsyn: Sometimes, making bold statements gives meaning to potential. Occasionally, naming a thing with give it power. Jokers are wild, and I suspect you are playing with a deck of 54.
...Can you explain the thoughts you had back then, now that you claimed? Anything related to your role?
avatar
mchack: are you now? Any inkling what character the Name Bull might refer to?
I thought about it a bit, actually. The only thing even close is Bull Shannon from the 80s sitcom Night Court. It doesn't fit perfectly... but he was a dumb, big bailiff (sort of like a jailer, I guess?).

avatar
mchack: ...Can you explain the thoughts you had back then, now that you claimed? Anything related to your role?
Sure. Claiming first thing, right of of the box, with a power role, is fairly anti-town under normal circumstances. Thus, under normal circumstances, I might advise a policy lynch on any player to do such a thing. Given my knowledge of potentially gimped roles, I surmised that this was not a 'normal situation', because yogsloth is reckless and pigheaded, but not stupid in my experience.

The card reference was me trying to hint at what he was doing by using his reference to 'playing the cards he was dealt'. A joker is a wild card, but it isn't anything until it is played. I figured he needed to claim for role reasons, and that his role wouldn't be active until he did. It seems I was wrong on that guess...

I think Hijacks claim was nowhere near yours, he said he can unrestrict roles whereas you say you can jail/roleblock only restricted roles.

I don't see where your role would imply that there is a restrictor role on scum, since town roles seem to come restricted by default. Why haven't you thought about jailing any of the breadcrumbed roles of day one? Seems you could have saved our doctor, who was pretty out in the open? (even HSL asked him if his last name was House pretty much in the beginning, meaning he suspected him of being a doctor)

As for breadcrumbing, you mentioned you breadcrumbed your role before. Any links to that, you can provide?
avatar
mchack: I think Hijacks claim was nowhere near yours, he said he can unrestrict roles whereas you say you can jail/roleblock only restricted roles.
His role is similar in that it is a role to thwart restrictions. It was the 'reserved' part that gave me pause. He was claiming a plausible role, form my stand-point, but he was also making is such that it was harder to prove (at least not immediately without forcing night actions).

avatar
mchack: I don't see where your role would imply that there is a restrictor role on scum, since town roles seem to come restricted by default.
Because, my role specifically is for stopping people from putting restrictions on players. There must be someone in the game that can place restrictions on people, else my role is tantamount to a bastard role. Do you believe a restrictor would be pro-town in this set-up?

avatar

And potentially block him from saving another player if my jailer thing fired? Brilliant. I couldn't guess who scum would go after, and I decided I didn't want to inadvertently hamstring a night action.

avatar
mchack: As for breadcrumbing, you mentioned you breadcrumbed your role before. Any links to that, you can provide?
Bread-crumbing was possibly the wrong word. I suppose it is more like soft-claiming than bread-crumbing. Regardless, when I mentioned it, I was referring to letting certain information slip that was almost certainly going to get people interested in what my role must be. It was when I was talking about the knowledge I had of restrictors at the start for the game.
Mulled it over a bit.

Here’s the biggest problem I see. The above doesn’t compute. I might even say it’s directly contrary to the basic game setup as we understand it. In fact, it appears to be cobbled together from various publicly-traded bits of information, while managing to miss the center point entirely.

If you’re Town, I will be utterly confused.

Yep yep.

Krypsyn: yogsloth is reckless and pigheaded, but not stupid in my experience.
Got me pegged.
EBWOP (thanks yogsloth for the post)

More to your point about agenctcarr16, since a little clarification is obviously neeed. My role only works to save people from getting restricted, it doesn't stop kill attempts. I am not a full fledged jailer in that sense. So, I could have saved agentcarr16 from getting restricted, but not from getting outright NKed.
*sigh*
Unvote cristigale

You are entirely correct, I didn't read cristi's post near well enough. The line I quoted was what stuck in my head, without the previous context stating it was when CSPVG revoted yogs not his first vote (to be honest, I hadn't even realised CSPVG had revoted yogs after the whole 'useless' fiasco as I wasn't around at the time and only quickly skimmed the pages at the end of the day.)

Not sure what to make of Krypsyn's claim. If there is a scum 'restrictor' as he speculates (claims?) that might explain why we have two unrestrictors, but a restriction protector / doctor as well seems a bit overpowered...
avatar
adaliabooks: ... but a restriction protector / doctor as well seems a bit overpowered...
I am not a Doctor, or even a full fledges Jailer. I will block people from getting restricted, but I have a chance to remove their ability to use a Night Action. I do not save anyone from NK.

I would highly encourage further votes on Krypsyn.

I believe we have our Scum Roleblocker.

If I'm wrong, I will look like one total goober for sure.

If I'm right?

You know the drill.
