This was a weird one. I bought it years ago, had a couple hour bash and put it aside until recently (several years later). Diablo 4 just came out and looking at it I didn't want to sign up to battlenet nor fork out $120 for it, so I loaded up Grim Dawn. WOW.... why did I wait so long to play this?! Amazing! I love the various options of character builds, the storyline, even the graphics and music are solid (although nothing will ever match the theme from Tristram). Highly recommend giving this a go if you want something that hearks back to the era of Diablo 1 & 2 for fun.

Plays similar to the old game, with slightly cartooned up graphics and sounds. Smooth running. Has new power ups included, and different creatures. I like that it also includes the original classic game. Yes, the first couple of levels are super easy, but I gather they are to introduce the game and physics to noobs that have never played the original. Yes, some levels require a few runs to figure out how to best play it to achieve perfect, as was the orginal. As were most games back in the 80's and 90's that were designed to be figured out and MASTERED, not just run through with no real challenge. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this boulder dash down memory lane.

Wow, this brings back so many memories of fun point and click adventures from the 90's like Sierra and Lucas Arts during their peak. I had heard people were kicking up a stink over the new art style vs the old games, but I liked it. The actual gameplay and puzzles were fairly fun, nothing too difficult to rack the brain over. The humour and storyline were so much fun. I really hope they work on some new stuff. I will definitely be in for more!

I haven't played any of the other games by Frictional, but if they're anything like this, I might have to get them! I would also add that I'm not usually into horror games, but this one reeled me in. A storyline that starts small and unfolds as you progress and really gets you caught up in things. And boy is it anxiety inducing in sections!

Got this game on Gamepass. A stealth game with a little combat and a LOT of storyline. The story itself was fine, but the dialogue is a little lame at times, and the way Amicia talks to herself is often hilariously bad. Frustratingly, the game narrows down the corridoors of travel so it basically becomes "pick scrub 'A' or wall 'B' to hide behind and continue moving on, choosing to either kill or sneak past guards". There are LOTS of chapters where the majority of it is justing running, or worse, walking while there is exposition. If they got rid of these sections the gameplay would probably be cut short to 8 hours, so this was obviously a ploy to lengthen gameplay time. The graphics were decent, and only a few glitches of NPC's getting stuck or killing themselves. The music score is decent. I feel like if they had worked it towards being a little more like Shadows of War/ Shadow of Mordor in gamestyle (obviously with less combat options) would have worked better. All in all, this game left me frustrated, and yet the storytelling deserved better.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister sucked hard. This game is what the developers wished it was I bet. Better mechanics, better dialogue that's actually funny, good puzzles, challenging battles. $90 might be a bit sharp of a price, but you can get a good feel for the vanilla edition for free on MS Gamepass.
