You crashed. You are entirely alone. The sun is a death sentence, and your mobile base must keep moving to outrun it. With no rescue coming, you must find a way to operate it, or you’ll die. When the planet itself is your enemy, every second spent standing still brings you closer to ash.

To survive, you must move. To move, you need help. Forced to use the base’s advanced quantum technology and the planet’s unique resources, you must create The Alters: alternative versions of yourself. Brought to life by a supercomputer that turned your alternative life choices into reality, they are your only hope. They bring the specific expertise and capable hands you drastically lack, but they also bring their own human baggage.

A crew of ‘yourselves’ is a psychological nightmare. Every Alter arrives with distinct personalities, memories, and regrets. You aren't just managing resources. You are also a relationship manager to yourself, mediating conflicts and confronting your past choices lightyears from home. As tensions rise, your Alters will clash over how to handle the mission. Keep them sane and keep them together, or your own egos will destroy your only chance of seeing Earth again.

Your rolling base is your lifeline, your factory, and your home. Customize and upgrade it to accommodate your growing crew. Research cutting-edge technologies, manage crucial life-support gear, and manufacture what you need to survive. Turn your base into a self-sustaining powerhouse capable of keeping both your crew fed and your systems humming.

You cannot hide inside the hull forever. To fuel your base and progress your research, you must step out onto the hostile planet's surface. Venture out into unpredictable anomalies and heavy radiation to mine essential resources. But watch the clock, as every expedition is a high-stakes gamble against the oncoming burning sunrise.

This game may contain content not appropriate for all ages (e.g. realistic violence, blood, use of tobacco, consumption of alcohol, mention of illegal drugs, crude language).

Data Collection

The game might be good, I do not know, and the reason is that after launching the game, the EULA pops up asking to concent in allowing data collection. This is important information that should be conveyed to the buyer/player before purchace. I personally do not want to allow any data to be collected, and so I have no option other than uninstalling the game and asking for a refund...

Data agreement

It is a pity that such a good game presents, at its first start, a data collection agreement that the user must accept in order to play. Normally for such agreements there is always an "opt out" selection. In this case, if you opt out, you CANNOT play (the game shut down immediately). Needless to say I immediately refunded the purchase.

Despite the EULA I like it

This game is absolutely fascinating and delves deep into character dynamics, it requires you study the history of your alternative selves and get them on board with your mission. Unreal engine graphics make is a feast for the eyes and without spoiling the story, I am extremely impressed with the implementation. Only gripe is that the EULA is invasive, Remove that and I'd have given it a 5 star review.

Not Profound--Pretentious.

Unpopular take incoming. tl;dr, it insists upon itself. Gameplay's alright, has everything I want. Engaging primary gameplay loop (exploration), compelling secondary loop (management) and driving tertiary loop (sunrise). Resembles both This War of Mine and XCom. Music was well done, even if I'm not a fan, I can't complain about characterisation like that--the alters were the ones listening to it. Graphics hit a sweet spot of 'realistic', but still stylised so it's not uncanny. As much as I'm sick of seeing magenta, its use made sense to paint Ally Corp. in a 'we care about PR first and foremost' kind of light. UI was alright, though very buggy, elements that should disappear (like the moodlets) didn't always. Subtitles frequently mispelled too. The writing killed it though. I can overlook melodrama, cringe, and a couple of the Alters being caricatures, all as matters of taste. What I can't overlook is the Telltale Games-esc false sense of 'Choices Matter' presented at the end of Act 2. In my playthough, I put the interests and needs of the Alters first, championing them to the company. In the moral decision in Act 2, I kept them in the loop and made sure they knew what was up. Now, I didn't expect everyone magically getting along just because I was the errand boy, I'm not precious about 'getting my way', but if I realise during gameplay none of my prior decisions factor into the outcome, the writer didn't stick the landing. With how hard the game yells at you for being a monster either way, it comes off mean spirited, like I'm being mocked for making the best of a no-win situation. Referencing philosophers by name should have been a red flag the game would be made to look clever at my expense. I like 11Bit, their prior games had morality as a skill issue: with grit, you could find a better way. How did they screw it up so hard here? P.S. I had Doctor and Psych, why was Scientist still doing the medical story beats? Conclusion: Angrily dropped after 20 hours. **Edited for typos
