Project Hospital

Average but only hospital simulation

The game is good, feels like a mixture of Theme Hospital and the Sims but is not as good as either of them. What is lacks is in short the fun factor. Where you had nice goals in Theme Hospital or good interaction in the Sims this hospital simulation is just that: A simulation. Technically it is ok, no showstoppers here and no amazing elements. It is quite accurate with respect of hospital procedures and has a steep learning curve at the beginning (the tutorials help a lot despite of some reviews here). The game feels unbalanced and apart from the quite accurate modelling of hospital business quite boring and unfinished. It gets a 3/5 honest evaluation, it does definitly not deserve 1 star ratings and definitly not a 5 star rating.

EVERSPACE™

What describes it best

Some already said: A mixture of concepts of FTL and Freespace. Note that this is not a free-roam-kind-of game - no open world, no role playing elements. It is a 50:50 mixture of arcade game and old style try-until-you-get-there. Having said that - it does that very well and I admit I expeted way worse after FTL and into the breach. The game has formidable graphics, in fact one of the best I have seen, colorful nebula, blazing suns, dark and terrifying mist scenarios. The game concept is well done, well thought and once you get the grip and concept it is fun to play. You level your ship up with each playthrough as you discover the linear story until the end. So well done, but of course not a AAA game. Graphics: Very good Sound: Very good Story: Mediocre (Good, but not much) Replayability: Bad Concept: Arcade shooter with permanent level ups Gets a 4 stars from me because of the graphics and the well done overall though it is not my favorite gaming experience.

Frostpunk

Good game, but short

Apart from the severe starting problems you have when you have not installed every update available for Windows 7 it runs fine. Be warned if you like Sim City or similar and expect something like this - it is nowhere in that direction. You will play scenario only and the game is made up like a browser game and not like a simulation. Events are scripted and you will always follow the same goals. The atmosphere is fine - postapocalyptic and if you like those kind of sad stories you will probably like this one. Gameplay, handling and everything seems polished and I had no "wtf" moments once you got the grip of it. Difficulty is very well balanced, sometimes you fail if you do not set your priorities right but not so much it would seem to difficult. You are essentially stuck at your city with a small defined space to build on - no map, no world. Outside events are just story and sending scouts to locations on a larger map. Gfx: Very good Sound: Very good Usability: Good Gameplay: Mediocre Story: Good Replayability: No Comparable to: Browser games but better Gfx and stuff. NOT like: Sim City, Fallout, Siedler
