This game contains a lot of unfinished ideas... can be weirdly glitchy sometimes... or obnoxious... or simply rude towards you with its bugs... It's still worth trying, considered you can purchase it pretty cheap nowadays. If you're wondering about gameplay - The Elder Scrolls meets "realistic" functions. That's basically it :)
I thought hard whether to give it 4 or 5 stars, I ended up with 4 for one simple reason -> sometimes you can "softlock" yourself during some skill checks and that can be... discouridging... discouridging enough for me NOT to play it a second time... Other than that - it's GREAT. And different... and there's A LOT of reading, so if you're not fan of those, just don't :) But I can definitely recommend it otherwise.
And that's basically it... it's nice, plays well, is kinda fun... but I still couldn't stop thinking about Diablo 2. Definitely worth a try if you've had enough of Diablo 2 though... And yes, it's better than Diablo III / IV so you can go ahead and buy this instead.
I wanted to play Alan in a looong time, because everyone praised the game as one of the best games ever. It's not. The game is linear, pretty standard gameplay BUT at first it seems like survival horror... just to become third person shooter later on... it has to, because Alan can't run more than 2 meters without running out of breath... there are also some compatibility issues etc. ... also good luck jumping over the ledges :) It's not a bad game, it's just nothing special - if you want some horror game like this, Dead Space, Resident Evil 4 (does that still count as horror?) Evil Within ... those are just much better...
