This one didn't age well to be honest :) It's clunky, command "WHAT IS" is actually your best friend, you can screw yourself over pretty simply and regret it later on in the game even simpler. It's was still a great game in its time... just not nowadays anymore, no. Still if you hate yourself and love games from Sierra - you will love this one too :)
And that's basically it - if you don't like this kind of games, just don't buy it :) If you do, you can enjoy enviroment not so far from first Bioshock. Originally I wanted to blaze through this, but the story and things around kept me longer. Also difficultry where enemies leave you be and you can freely roam and explore helped me to enjoy this game. Story itself is not something superb, but the atmosphere is more than enough to enjoy this.
The game itself is good, like it has always been. It's a shame they don't have proper rights to use music though... OST itself is accessible in DOS version, if you don't want to use "classic" graphics and want to us new engines, I tried several of them to find only QUAKESPASM works with soundtrack... worth, don't play it without original OST. Good luck :)
Still the same as when I first played it on 10 FPS (although nowadays I have finally smooth run :) ). Enemies are still more intelligent than in your common AAA Titles, they often use covers and map layout more than players... shame this isn't seen more often.
I thought Doom 3 wasn't such a bad game as I remembered... it was not, it was even worse... it's not only a bad Doom game, it's "somewhat under-average" FPS game... I would give 2* only, BUT you get Final Doom and Doom 2, so... it's worth the price itself :)
