The less you play good, the more difficult will be the game. So you have to play not in the dev way (which is iron autosaving mode). You can't choose freely who you are, you must choose in the dev prepared way. I waqnted to play my own role, not a dev one, so bye.
can't go far in the game
I'm surprised this game is very pleasant. Maybe I bought it after some patch, so what is remaining bad is the UI, as you can't bind the keys nor quit the game (fromm fullscreen in options you must come back to a window, then kill it). But despite the UI, all is nice in this little game. Just don't expect AAA work.
