Ion Fury + Aftershock

The very worst of retro.

The guns are terrible, the enemy placement is awful, most just appear on top of you. The maps are bad, the guns are bad. For some reason 'nostalgia' seems to make peoples brains stop functioning, and they rave about crappy games. Save your time and money.

Shadow Warrior (2013)

2 games, 1 good, 1 weak

I'd really like to know who phoned the 2nd half of the game in ? It starts so very good, and the just stagnates.

Nightmare Reaper

Someone doesn't understand strategy

The game starts ok if a little strange. Quickly it become a wave of 2D sprites that fade into the background in a blocky cavern...over and over and over. If you could get it for $7 it might be worth your time, otherwise I would pass. I am not sure where this great nostalgia factor comes from, but in my book a crappy graphics game is just that, not a nostalgic romp thru a time that never existed.

Dread Templar

Arghhh

The enemies have no physical presence, you can and do run through them in combat all the time. Ohh and if you weapon is inside the enemy YOU CAN'T HARM IT. JANKY

Turbo Overkill

Was better but the dev seems absent.

The game has/had potential but the sound issues aren't being addressed at all. The guns are not good, trigger delays due to animation, again terrible pew pew sounds. I am not rgeat big fan of the chainsaw leg, it seems gimmicky to me. I really hat that I can't crouch and move forward except in an insane slid. I was lost far too often in the later stages and I won't begin to go into how bad the later levels got. I am thinking the dev has ADHD and couldn't help trying to cram the full monty into this game. If you get it cheap, like $5 it will be worth your time. Otherwise i'd advise a pass.

Forgive Me Father 2

No cheats ?

I am an old guy with arthritis and terrible reflexes. The days of git gud are long gone. Not sure why dev's decided to exclude us old gamers from everything new. I don't play online, and achievments bug I'd like to give my money to these guys but alas it seems not to be. Good policy...

F.E.A.R. Platinum

I had such high hopes based on reviews.

People spouted things like better than Doom...coughBScough. What an overscripted pile. I spent more time in lame cutscene after cutscene. You can skip cutscenese right into another cutscene. The 1st few level might as well not exist, you can't go off script. Then there are in-game cutscenes that you can't skip. The world has so much there but it is all frosting. You can't break a window unless the level goes that way. After back tracking so much in the first few levels I gave up. I'll go play Doom, it is waaaaay better.

Roboquest

WOW, repetitious much ?

Maybe it is just me but I was bored after a couple of hours. So many of the gun are cutesy junk, but there are so many it still works out. Upgrading is a HUGE RNG ClusterFSCK. You choose a path and MAYBE you get somthing that works for you, mostly you get random junk that doesn't fit or help in any way. The multiplayer limit SUCKS, and getting dropped from a game you cannot get back into REALLY SUCKS. I had fun for a bit then uninstalled.
