taltamir: The most important "mod" is to run the game in window mode while using the software from http://gwr.orekaria.com/ to make it fit your monitor perfectly so it looks exactly like full screen while being windowed; this eliminates almost all the crashes in the game and allows you to alt-tab or hit the windows key with impunity, while looking exactly the same as a full screen mode.

Full screen mode is a derelict, a throwback to the 1990s... you "save" 8MB of ram on a 1920x1200 @ 32bit color... and for what? instability and long delays? not worth it
Woah, is that true? Are games really more stable in windowed mode? Should I run all my games in windowed mode using "gamers window relocator"?

He's a little crazy, I'm afraid. Performance is better in fullscreen mode, if only a bit, and crashes should be extremely rare if a game is well coded and you take care of your system.

Anyway, that isn't a mod, so please move the discussion to another thread if either of you wish to continue.

chautemoc: If there's anything highly recommendable I've missed, please let me know and I'll be happy to add it.
I'd like to nominate the Stuff that makes Geralt's life easier mod; unless their are issues with it(I haven't had any). It use to be on the old missing forums. only 11k zipped.
How do I uninstall the mods? Flash specifically...

It seems that I accidentally increased the difficulty =/

This is a great mod, it will definitely make your life easier. it has only 3 things
1. Mediation anywhere, no need for fireplaces or beds
2. Storage Item, so you don't have to go to an inn to store the surplus items.
3. See in the dark (Cat Potion). In the prologue, one of the witchers said witchers can see in the dark, so whats the point of cat potions? this will allow you see in the dark without cat potions

However if you are going to use it, it doesn't work with the Scabbard Mod, so either choose that or this.

I uploaded the quest items version, that means the items are quest items and are found in the quest section of the inventory (a non-quest version exists too, but I don't have that)

Download (Make sure you read the readme)

Flash mod can be uninstalled through Control Panel, however you can lower the difficulty in-game using potions.

Thanks for that. I took a look at it via cached link and it looks cool. I'll add it when the forums are back up.

JO11190: Hey,

Thanks a bunch. I'm gonna install the high quality textures and the sword thing asap , saving the FCR for a future playthrough with thoses fan-made adventures.
I don't believe FCR will work with the Fan made mods if thats what your impling.
Are there any camera mods? I like the direct control of Driving mode, but not the way it locks the cursor to Geralt's view so I can't use the icons.

Something like Dragon Age (WADS to move, free cursor that toggles to mouselook when you hold down a button) would be ideal, if such a mod exists.

That's already built into the game..hold shift and you can use the icons.

I missed that. Thanks. List has been updated.
Is TW2 being released with any tools? I'd like to try my hand at some mods, I made some for Baldur's Gate 2 ages ago, but it seems too late to do anything with TW1.

Good question. I think I heard they would release them post-launch, but I could be mistaken.

It is, but a few things won't work. Quoting:

- item descriptions and models on already existing items
- werewolf quest reward fix
- already existing enemies will give same exp (shouldnt be a problem since they respawn and new ones will be updated)

Might be outdated info, though, that's from an old post.
