Solo4114: I'd bet that the big holdup right now is probably some negotiation relating to distribution rights. Like, I dunno, LucasArts might've negotiated some release agreement with some other company years ago for distributing old discount versions of the DOS CD-ROM versions, and it's not as simple as "Oh, well, just pay us $X more, and we're set." Plus, lawyers have to draft contract amendments, and then get them reviewed by the other side's lawyers, who want changes made, which have to be reviewed by the first side's lawyers, and so on and so forth.
I suspect something similar... I'm guessing it will come to GOG eventually but it's hard to say how long it will take. Fortunately I have a huge backlog of other GOG games to play in the meantime!
Awesome! Good to know someone at Disney is aware of this.
That's good to see. Thanks for the link.
I sense a good deal of purchases in the future, if what Seth Davis commented on succeeds!
Thanks for this post! I will gladly purchase if the best version becomes available.
Let's just hope it will take less time than the initial release :)
They may be waiting to release it with the next set of disney/star wars games. I'm sure the process in making sure it runs on modern systems isn't any different from the 94 version. I'm just glad they're listening.

Another vote for Tie95!

Thanks for making the SW games available GOG.
+1 here. If they make the definitive version available for purchase, I'll be sure to buy it.

You already got Tie95 ;-)
I'd buy the full pack of X-Wing, TIE Figher, XvT, and XWA if we got the proper Collector's CD versions of XW and TIE. I already own them all on old CDs, but the work GoG has put into making them compatible with modern systems would absolutely be worth buying them again.
I will buy the game, if something like the following version is released :

TIE Fighter CD (with iMuse), NO Installation (Portable).

Same here. I've held off on buying any of these since (A) I own them all in their original forms, and (B) I'd rather get the whole shebang at once instead of paying piecemeal.
Nothing special, but nothing negative either. ;-)

Me: Hope things are staying on schedule for more @GOGcom releases. ;-)

Seth Davis: Yes

Glad to hear this. I was starting to think that they just gave up and I irrationally started to forget about the fact that they have another set of releases coming lol
