It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

pcamagna: I wish. I've been hoping this would replace the currently stickied but horribly outdated thread for some time now. It recommends Widescreen first, which is a spectacularly bad idea and will ensure a lovely game full of crashes.

Gydion: Typically, you just need to ask a blue, but you would want it updated first.
Got it covered (as you can see). :)

JudasIscariot: Stickied as requested :)
Thanks!

Given that you made post #2 & it links to the old defunct sticky, how about updating it to link to post #41 in this thread?

Done. :)
This post helped me a lot, so a big thank you to everyone who contributed! :)

My personal list of mods I use:
One Pixel Productions Animation Fixes for IWD:TotLM
The IWD Fixpack
One Pixel Productions High-Quality Music
Unfinished Business for Icewind Dale (aka IWD UB)
The Widescreen Mod

Aran_Linvail: Second, I was going through the G3 site and found an install order list a bit longer than the one here, so I thought to just make it available here in case anyone cares to use it; it has several mods that aren't list here on GoG but just in case I include them since they seem popular:
Right--I wrote both of these, and my G3 post is just a copy-and-paste of the first post in this thread.

Sigh, my bad. That's what happens when you read and answer several topics at once, or at least it happens to me.

Wow, i really hope that Icewind Dale has the same mods like those for BGI&II and Planescape : Torment. If the setup is easy and worked as those, I'll surely buy IWD I&II. If the mods are well structured and worked, just why didn't GOG put the links on their IWD catalogue? I didn't bought the game before, because I'm hoping that there'll be mods in the future
Hi, I followed this excellent guide and modded the game. With the widescreen mod I had some problems, how high is it wise to go? I have a very good monitor which supports up to 2560 x 1440. but when I tried that resolution, the text became unreadable and the characters tiny (Lilliputian). Tried uninstalling the mod and changing to a lower setting but then it just goes back to the original non widescreen setting, so looks like I need to start again from the beginning. What resolution is best for a modern system?

Is that site in the link the only place to get the Fixpack? I can't download anything off there.

Gibberlings3 are experiencing problems at this time, and unless CamDawg (pcamagna on this forum) reactivates the once-active emergency G3 mirror, then you will have to be patient.

Cool thank you. I can do patient. I was just playing it as is at the moment. :-)
Nearly every button and link on G3 (including the Download button) takes me to the general forum page. Not even a specific one.

This happened with the IWD Fixpack page, anyone else seeing this?

EDIT: Oh nevermind, I caught what's up after checking the site's news.
EDIT 2: But now on a fresh GOG install, the animation fixes don't install correctly due to an error. The sound fix in this can be installed correctly though.

I ran into the same issues but managed to work through them:

I found the downloads by clicking the Downloads tab on the forum page.

The animation fixes have a broken installer. You have to install the fixes one at a time, quitting after each one. You also have to install any installed fixes first before following this method, if you've hit the error at any point.
