Don't get me wrong. I can appreciate that he'd prefer to play as a male character. It's just the fact that he felt the need to drop this complaint as a 1* review as well is so immature and silly.
Yep, this may be true for certain types of games that give you that option. And even then I'd imagine that most players are still just playing AS some character... a character that they made to resemble themselves.. sort of.. in an "optimized" kind of way.. you know, more powerful, smart, good-looking, badass. But otherwise totally accurate-to-life alter ego. But yes, I get your point. I'm sure they appeal to female and male players alike, though probably for varying reasons :D I totally agree!

I never play female characters because of sexual attraction, there are rpgs where you dont even seen alot of the body, like isometric pixel rpgs.
Or luckily we have games nowadays where woman are not even shaped to be presented as a sexualized object.

I think you are right of what you accuse of people to claim about, they dont look at butts all the time, they become the character, thats why they like, thats at least why I like it.

As far as I'm aware science tells us that the human genders are defined genetically (XX and XY chromosomes). In fact I immediately found this definition from the World Health Organisation just now: "The X and Y chromosomes determine a person's sex." Regardless of what people do to their bodies with drugs and surgery, their gender is genetically assigned at conception. I appreciate that things go on in people's heads that make them feel otherwise, but scientifically the facts are the facts. Perhaps there's a clear sociological or psychological definition to lay on top of the hard scientific one?

I want to stress again that this isn't meant to be a snarky post, I'm genuinely interested.

The arguement is honestly supported on a very flawed basis for who came up with this Trans matter on Gender and Sex are different thingd was a quack that do to a botched I forgot C-section or circomsion the boy ended up basically not having a lets say his male lower anomaty told the parents to raise the kid as a girl.. meet the kid and his brother without the adults in the room ..claimed the kid was happy and healthy with no mental problems but he lied as a little more then a decade ago the person who was raised as a girl came out revealing the lies aswell as the quack admitted he lied and has even awhile back said he made a huge mistake and was wrong .. The person this was done to was David Reimer.. and died via his own hands at the age of 38 from mental problems stemming from how he was raised as he always felt and knew he was a boy.. despite told most his life he was a girl and found out differently later on that made his mental health worse

Where as the Quack only says he regrets his lies and sees it as a misake do to how so many are going under the knife

I think the OP has a valid underlying point, even if it was unintentional. I became fully aware of it back when Creative Assembly (behind the Total War games) slagged-off their majority customer base and then said they didn't want anyone who dared to have a counter-opinion to theirs to play their games. I see the same pressure from pseudo-liberals being applied to Cyberpunk 2077 and therefore will not be buying it until I assess what its target demographic is.

It's also worth noting that the OP asked "Can I play this game as a man?", not "Can I play this game as a man and please post your counter-opinions to my choice." It's the unsolicited replies that lead to threads like this getting locked. Then again, if people didn't wade in with their own views the threads wouldn't be so interesting.

I thought the thread was an obvious joke that got taken too serious, and now it's diverted all the way over to transgender.
