Kamui18: I wish the store in the galaxy 2.0 client had a search function and in my library i had two unknown games.
The search function is the "More Offers" under "Store"

My general feedback:

After using it for a few months I stopped and swapped to Playnite and have been much happier since. *Almost* everything I wanted from Galaxy is there (the main exception being chat, and of course GOG stuff like updates or cloud saves, obviously). Here are some of the main reasons in no particular order:

- Galaxy 2.0 is way more resource intense than I am willing to accept, especially since most of my games will still need to run yet another store launcher (if not two, or even three).

- So many of the plugins are a complete mess. Admittedly some are made by amateurs and thus the mess is expected, but... yeah. Way too many are a disaster. Infinite loops, broken scrapes, insane bugs that aren't even possible to fix because it's on the GOG side of things... the list goes on.

- The seeming lack of caching or ability to preserve the library's state without completely reconnecting and recalibrating every service every single time the thing launches. Combine that with the need to have essentially a constant connection with various services otherwise your games disappear and... yeah. This is my #1 irritation and it is a BIG one. I have thousands of games across every major platform out there, and it's a roll of the dice what will actually show up with each launch or minute-to-minute. It also means it's 100% unusable offline.

- The awful and bare-bones chat system (and the subsequent lie about cross platform capabilities in that regard. No, I don't believe for a second that will be "coming soon").

- The severe lack of customization of the client. GOG in the past was good about seeing what other services lacked, and filling that gap. Customization is a HUGE aspect of that, and it's one that solves lots of problems people may have about various design aspects (since then it's in their hands to tinker as they see fit).

- The 100% half-assed, broken, and pointless stat/etc. systems. None of them work properly and they're all just slapped together without a moment's thought on the visualization of the data.

- The lack of fine tune privacy controls. I may be friends with people, but that doesn't mean I want all of them to have a free-for-all on what I play and how I play it.

Steam has something like this:

Galaxy 2.0 is still a shitshow.

Plugins still crash, and only Steam remains offline, no matter what I do. And even by a miracle it works, it goes offline after 1 or 2 days. It doesn't even find any installed games I have. Hell, some games even disappear!! And even in GitHub, nobody has the solution or fix for it.

And somehow it demands more memory than any other client I have installed on my PC. I think 20 tabs of Chrome take less memory than importing games when I login. And it looks ugly.

How many forums thread are with complains? How many page of complains are here? I opened such thread 4 or 5 months ago, and still the same crap.

If your #1 thing you advertise constantly (connecting all platforms into place) doesn't work well, then MAYBE it's time to do something about it.

Last time I logged in to Galaxy 2.0 was simply to grab Witcher 3, since I have it on Steam and PS4 and never again so far.

well, came here to say basically say what a lot of others are saying. I loved the first galaxy client really it made installing things and updating them easier and I was happy with that. but something a while back that I cannot for the life of me figure out, I've checked all of my firewall settings, and security permissions, I've opened three tickets with GoG on two of them they gave the same advice (do all of the stuff I already did so i did check over everything again and follow their instructions just to be certain and it's not fixed) and the last time I was literally ignored. Every game fails to install or update so now I've developed not only an aversion to Galaxy, I actually have developed an aversion to GoG in it's entirety. I not use other platforms some of which I am not a fan of, but he they actually work. The last bit of advice I got from GoG was "hey you know you don't need galaxy to download and install games?" which is funny because I've been a customer since before galaxy was even a thing. So Galaxy 2.0 is crap, your customer service is crap, they have zero troubleshooting skills and basically just said "you fix it or stop using it" I wish I didn't have a 100 games on here because I get annoyed every-time I log in.

Before galaxy 2.0, I only bought my video games from GOG.
Since galaxy 2.0, I am very reluctant to buy any games from GOG.
I won't buy any from them for myself, but my ex girlfriend pays me to buy games for her as "gifts" because she is unorganized.
The last few games that I bought for myself, were from itch.io .
It is sad to see GOG turn into garbage.

i lost interest in persuing this, as gog doesn't seem to be interested in their userbase. at all.

i've bought wasteland 3 on steam although i have the second part on gog.

Has there been any kind of update for Galaxy 2 since the so called "release"?

I have been a user of GOG since it first came out. I have purchased many games from GOG. I used to love GOG. I used to love GOG Galaxy.

However, since I was forced to upgrade to GOG Galaxy 2 beta, my relationship with GOG has deteriorated to the point where I buy my games elsewhere.

I can't make the client look the way I want. Integrations don't work reliably. I only see tags if I display all games and they disappear if I select only one integration. Steam doesn't show on the left of the window even though it is integrated and synced. I have a powerful computer but GOG Galaxy 2 takes up an awful lot of resources. I have had many crashes of the client. etc. etc.

Shame on you for ruining my relationship with your company.

You used to be a great organization, but somewhere along the way you lost your sense of direction. Until you get it back, I won't be dealing with you.

A very disappointed person
In the end, I said "screw it" and I uninstalled it. What's the point of losing my mind over a broken client that doesn't work properly?

Even though I could say in general; what's the point of Galaxy 2.0. If it was simply a client for GOG games, everyone would say "yet another damn client, because we are short of them now" (still surprised Nintendo hasn't made one for PC), but it would make sense. But why have a place where I can connect all my clients when said connections don't even work. Plugins still crash, games simply disappear, it doesn't detect any installed games, slows down my PC more than 20 tabs of Chrome and so many more problems people have expressed on sooooooooooooo many posts and threads. And our only solution is some people on GitHub who to try and patch holes, while more holes keep popping up. No official support, no troubleshooting, no communication, no customer service, nothing.

It really makes me not buy any games from GOG and simply wait for more games appearing on GOG Connect.

I am scared of the shitstorm when and if Cyberpunk 2077 comes out finally and demands Galaxy 2.0.

In the wise words of William Shakespare "Get your shit together".
I eventually figured out that GoG galaxy messed up my Stellaris install. There's not really any point spending more money if the games won't get installed, or they'll get semi un-installed half way through and do something surprising to the save files.

GoG seriously needs to get their client sorted because as much as I want to keep buying stuff, this is just entertainment and not worth the hassle.
1. Ability to hide filter tags, for example I have a tag ‘competed’ and when browsing my full collection, I would like to hide the ones I’ve completed so that only unbeaten games remain.

Alternatively you could have a built in function that lets you mark game as complete and then allow users to hide completed games within collection.

This enhances game collecting and completion by highlighting unbeaten games.

2. Would also like to see better support so expired game subscription games don’t appear as owned in my account, such as PS Now games and Xbox games.

3. Ability to sync iOS, Nintendo and itch games.

Ok not liking Galaxy 2.0. The UI is a mess. Galaxy 1 was much better, I like having my games list on the left and then when I click one it pulls the game up on the right.
I also wasnt able to find the button to sort by purchase order.

I went back to Galaxy 1. If 1 becomes unavailable then I just wont use Galaxy unless 2 gets a major UI overhaul.
While 2.0 has some problems, I like it. BUT that being said, there needs to be some work done.. Many options of the old galaxy were nice.. but many of the options in the new version are nice too..

I do like being able to connect to different services and having access to everything in one place. That being said, I would like to see an OLD galaxy style list when we click on GOG or STEAM or EPIC or whatever, appear along the left side of the GRID display (note not replacing the client list but within the grid list) and when we select either a grid display or from the list of titles to the left, like the old GOG, it takes us to the game page like it does now.

Right now when you have hundreds of games, it is really hard to find a specific game without a lot of clicking and scrolling.. In fact I am finding many times now even if I try to search for a game, the search does not find it even though GOG and another client have it installed.

It is also kinda surprising that we have seen no major updates to GOG 2.0 since we got the beta. Why is that?
Not sure if this subject is getting enough attention of Users and Admins.

Bringing two ideas

https://www.gog.com/forum/general_beta_gog_galaxy_2.0/watch_friends_play (idea by https://www.gog.com/u/Blonder)

and quick point about spoons

There is a spoon for a nice soup and there is a spoon for a desserts,
and these are two different spoons that user should not really mix to keep good taste.

Let GOG grow freely for everyone. Two GOG`s teams.
1. GOGGalaxy should have absolutely everything, all possible and impossible options without having any effect on
2. offline installers, profile (sharing thoughts), drm-free games offered by GOG.com and internet browser stuff.

and things in common too
3. GOGchat, GOGforum, GOGstore,

and all possible and impossible clients that way : )
