Mount and Blade which I played for two straight days with only sleeping in between.

I think that is the longest I have ever played a single game straight.

I think I can probably play the witcher for a long time, though 8 hours is maybe a bit to long. In general, strategy games and rpg's qualify, if they are good enough and not boring.

But you should always take breaks, even if it just is to talk to the other inhabitants of your house and to get something to eat.

Diabo 2 for sure. Commandos BEL. Sacred Gold. Once upon a time, Sims2. Freelancer. ID War 2. Oh, and Solitaire.

HOMM3, HOMM2,Carmageddon 2, Sacrifice, Postal 2, Manhunt, GTA: Vice City, Warcraft III, Starcraft,Civ 1 and 2,Shogun Total War, Diablo 2(I actually played this for about 16 hours straight once), Mortal Kombat 4,UT 2004, King of Dragon Pass and Eador. At least, those are the ones I remembered :P

Nothing, probably. I was pretty massively addicted to Morrowind but never got close to 8 hours. My gaming sessions usually last no longer than two and hover around one on average.

If you made me choose a game to play for 8 hours straight it would be Morrowind, though.

8 hours is pretty tough, but New Vegas and Mass Effect could get that outta me.

Not easy when you get older (I get tired a lot quicker / responsabilities / etc) but it's hard to resist a good game when you have a lot of fun.

I played Final Fantasy 6 for at least that much straight. Everquest lots as well.

These days I'm not as engrossed in games. If there is a lull, it's too easy to start reading forums, do chores, take a break... Probably have the endurance for up to 4 hours before restlessness sets in.

Playing that long is the same as sitting at the computer working all day for me.

If I have to top a game for 8 hours straight, that would be "Homeworld". I would play or would better say go into space : ) every weekend, I would go past 8 hours straight, but I wouldn´t notice it at all, I woudn´t get tired nor my eyes since it´s not a game where you look to a flash light all the time. I would just realize the time I had spent when I started hearing the birds singing outside when the sun was coming out :P.

Another one would be "Day of Defeat" for 11 hours straight, sometimes mixed up with "Star Wars: Battlefront" but those were at lanparties we used to organize. Now this is something I wouldn´t recommend :D, 11 hours is a little to much, your head starts to feel like a baloon, but at least to me 8 hours don´t get me tired, we would go out into the world outside like if we were Men in Black, everyone with sunlight glasses and walking like zombies.
