E3 is on it’s dawn. Lots’ of new things announced but we’d like to remind you about some Good Old Games you can play right now.
This week’s weekend promo is all about Strategy First catalogue, and we're putting a flat 50% off rebate on all titles, that includes cream of the crop turn based strategies like for example the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/jagged_alliance_2]Alliance . If you’re not a fan of squad based mercenary action, take a look at [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/disciples_2_gold]both of the Disciples titles. If the fantasy world is what you like but you're more of a direct person check out Sacred Gold, action RPG with an engaging story line.
After defeating various beasts and monsters maybe chill in your own spaceship ? Darkstar One is a space adventure sim.

Maybe you’re looking for a more managerial approach, if yes we’ve got something right for you.
You can choose from a more medieval setting in Patrician 3 or Port Royale 2.

After all of that serious stuff with those games, maybe kick back on your chair and enjoy some arcade madness with this series of [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/pro_pinball_fantastic_journey]Pinball ! Or just smash someone to bits in [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/flatout]FlatOut, a thrilling racer with fully destructible cars and environments ;)

For the full listing of all games including (simulations like Apache vs. Havoc see the promo page).

kalirion: If I was to get just 1 of the Pro Pinball games, which would be recommended?
If you were to get only one, I'd definitely say Big Race USA. They're all superb, but I'd say as far as "If you can only get one, get this one" is concerned, that's the one to go with.

TimeShock is my second favorite, the table is very nice and it has some good music. Unlike the other two, it runs in DOSBox, which can be a boon, a negative, or a non-issue depending on your system (Native DOSBox is better than Wine in Linux, but DOSBox is much more intensive than running a native Windows program).

Fantastic Journey is my least favorite table. By default, the table seems to have much more tilt to it. Also, it just seems a lot less interesting and more sparse. You can't really go wrong, but I'd save playing Fantastic Journey for after you've tried BRUSA and TimeShock. Of course, the current sale has them all at $9, and it's an excellent value.

If you only get one, go with BRUSA and consider the other ones later. If you like BRUSA, you might be able to get the others while they're still on sale if you wish.

Personally, I have the Pro Pinball trilogy, Sacred Gold (I haven't played it yet, but I got it during one of the Gem promos), FlatOut (It's pretty decent. Questionable music, but good graphics and decent tracks. For $3 it's fun but I wouldn't pay full price for it), and the Enemy Engaged games (Comanche vs Hokum is the better game, I'd say, but you can get extra content by having Apache vs Havok. It functions as a sort of expansion for EECH, providing helicopters and maps from the first game).

I haven't bought anything from this particular sale, though I've been contemplating the Jagged Alliance and Disciples games. I hear Darkstar One isn't so great. I don't really care about the rest. I did get Sacrifice though, as it was the oldest game from my wishlist (October) and I figured I might as well get something I really want, even if it's never going to be on sale. :P

Thanks for the advice! I went ahead and bought both Big Race and Timeshock :)
Fantastic Journey is also good, remember that ;-)
Heh, I checked out the demos of Sacred and Disciples 2 and funnily enough they both seem to share some environmental creature sounds with Gothic. Is it just me or are all these developers using the same sound libraries? I mean, you could say these animals always sound the same, but I'm pretty sure they're exactly the same sound files ... :D

I've bought 6 games: Combat Mission*, Jagged Alliance 1/2, Patrician 3, Sacred Gold and Strategic Command. Sadly, no money left** to buy the rest: 3 flight/driving sims, 3 pinballs and chess :(

*) Only by looking at screens and by watching videos on YT I wasn't so sure to buy or not to buy it - in the end I've made decision by looking at GOG's reviews.

**) Rest is reserved for next week Interplay promo.

Yeah right, we'll get an Interplay promo next week ;-) My guess for next week would be an Apogee Software sale of Blake Stone, Duke Nukem and Rise of the Triad. At least if they stick to the pattern of following up a GOG gems sale with a corresponding publisher sale...

Get FlatOut. One of the best driving / racing games ever.

I would. Trust me. But.. but.. but.. I have over 10+ games from Interplay on my "must buy" list and I'm low on "resources". I know it is very low chance for Interplay promo (like 0.000000001%) but IF it happens next week I must be ready for it or I will be deeply upset.

If I get some confirmation from GOG team that Interplay promo is a "no-no" / impossible / only in my fantasy, then I would be more than happy to buy FlatOut and other Strategy First's games I'm still missing from this promo.

I hope not... :(
So time is about up. About 7 hours from the time of this posting.

I really didn't want to go into town to reload my disposable debit card. But I did. Didn't want to pass up on two games from my wishlist. So I got Port Royale 2 and Patrician III. Also picked up some SMAC. 14 bucks for all those games! SMAC alone is worth that. My dollar spent per hour enjoyed is severely lopsided in my funs favor!

Good choices, wise merchant! :-)
Also, you did well to also buy SMAC while you were at it.
"E3 is on it’s dawn. Lots’ of new things announced"

I suggest you add "copy editor" to the list of job offers. This text should be "E3 is on its dawn. Lots of new things announced."

"It's" with an apostrophe is always "it is", and the possessive is "its".
That was a great sale. I bought PR2 and Sacred Gold.

Well, to be fair, Polish is their primary language. I know what you mean, though.
I'm a new gog member and simply loved those Strategy 1st games, especially Disciples and Sacred. Was hoping to pick up those titles but unfortunately missed the sale.. any Father's Day sale?

Wait for Monday, if you're lucky this Staycation sale might also affect the games of your choice.
