This is the best pinball simulation I have ever played.

Despite the fact that I have been playing this game for about the last decade, it still remains my favorite pinball game ever. The reason for that is simple - it is a near-perfect simulation of an actual pinball table, with an abundance of modes and interactive features, and it is incredibly fun to play. And, niche gaming genre or not, in all the years that have followed this... full review release, I have never come across another pinball simulation that could quite measure up.
Basically, this is as close as you're going to get to a real pinball table without actually owning one. With a fully customizable table slope, maintenance level, and a full-features operator's menu with detailed, per-feature difficulty settings and statistics, you can pretty much customize the game to play exactly how you want it.
And, of course, it wouldn't be a Pro Pinball game without a bit of a plot driving the pinball gameplay. During the game, you complete various tasks and modes, traversing across a map of the United States in order to compete in the game's ultimate mode, the Big Race. Along the way, you alternate between two board modes, In the City and On the Road, each with a large amount of different gameplay modes and challenges that can be activated. And like a true racing game, there's even a shop where you can upgrade various parts of your vehicle. Add to that well-rendered graphics, incredibly detailed physics for the ball and an engaging, not-too-repetitive soundtrack, and this game packs a ton of fun.
If you are a fan of pinball simulations, this is a must-have game for your collection, as it will outclass any other computer pinball game out there, at any price. And with GOG, there's no more CD swapping, so there's absolutely no excuse not to pick up the best pinball simulation ever.
I've always loved this game! I've lost my previous copy several years ago and now thanks to GOG I have it back.... full review
Several people reported issues when running this game under XP, but I haven't had any problem so far, it runs perfectly on my box (Core 2 Duo, 2Gb RAM, Audigy 2 sound card, XP sp3). I've run the installation program provided by GOG in Win98/ME compatibility mode (see this link for more details: http://support.empireinteractive.com/default.aspx?MID=60568495217F&PID=FC8A19A3-F7F3-4719-A578-86C6120DECAC) and haven't had any problem whatsoever.
