The new Firefox update makes the browser run a lot faster for me, and fixed a memory leak issue I had with it. I'd say the update makes it slightly better than Chrome (for me), but the default interface needs a lot of work.

Everything other than IE is just too slow and until 5 mins ago that was my preferred choice, but as soon as Deponia 3 became available, IE completely crashed and I missed out. Is there a virtual puching bag to hit somewhere?

Dang! Missed out on Sang Froid this round!

I've tested it with the InPrivate window minimized and having separate tabs (and not having focus on the gog main page) and it seems to work. I don't know why, but it acts as if there's a feedback reaction within your local network/local system updating both browsers.

Also, from what I've seen IE hate mostly stems from the bandwagon of MS hate. The only argument that I've ever heard against IE was that it didn't fully support the newest CSS for a while and issues with old versions of IE.

1) Old versions of IE exists because software for old versions of Windows tied directly to a version of IE, MS had to make updating IE optional in order that these pieces of software would still be able to be used (and so companies didn't have to spend millions of dollars updating software). .NET was made to counter that old system and introduce a new one, so it is now moot.

2) When the new CSS guidelines came out, no one followed them. When IE did follow them, they followed them pretty closely, but Google has a habit of "editing" the standard to fit their browser better, which creates incompatibility with the actual standard, so in essence, no one follows the standard, so again, it is moot. Following this logic, some web devs will only test on one browser, and due to the various "interpretations" of the standard, the page may not work properly on all browsers. I feel this is lazy, but I do mostly desktop programming where we need to consider OS and hardware and program to allow as much freedom as possible (meaning there is no "one size fits all").
