Rrrrrrrnnnn! EEEEEEERRrrrrnNNNNNN!

Vrrrrooom! If you like fast cars, tight turns, and pulse-pounding races, then today's release is sure to please: Race Driver: GRID--known in the US simply as GRiD--screeches over the finish line for just $7.49 this week during its 50% off intro sale.

In GRID, you're a driver with dreams of going big: you start out driving in others' cars for money, but soon enough you'll start your own team, picking the races you want to compete in, buying the cars and equipment that you need to get the advantage over the other drivers, and traveling the world to compete. With 43 cars and 3 different regions to compete in--the US, Europe, and Japan--there's plenty to captivate adrenaline junkies. But that's not all: GRID also features an innovative "flashback" system, whereby you can rewind time a few crucial seconds to fix any sloppy driving or mistakes, avoid crashes, and generally gain the needed edge to win. With open wheel racing, demolition derbies, GT racing, there's plenty of variety in gameplay.

Real road courses such as Le Mans are in the game, as well as street circuits such as such as the Detroit and Washington D.C.. There are also a number of fictional tracks, such as street courses in San Francisco, and Milan, and Mount Haruna.

Is that enough to get your pulse pounding? Check out Race Driver: GRID this week for just $7.49--that's half off the full $14.99 price!

I need to ask this question - knowing the history of licensed cars racing games on GOG, how long will it be available for sale?

Wow. This is the first I've heard of it. Do tell me more. Should I be backing up all my car games now?

Atthe beginning GOG was selling TOCA Race Driver 3 and Collin McRae Rally 2005, but those were removed due to the expired cars licenses.

Of course those who bought those games have them till now. I'm not asking about the backup, I'm asking how long till they remove this game from the sale.

TheEnigmaticT: It looks all kind of debris-tastic.
That it does. Will be picking it up along with the Weekend promo it seems.

Strijkbout: From what I remember from playing this years ago your car does take damage although be it in a somewhat reduced form, if you have played any of the previous Racedriver games by Codemasters you know what to expect.
The game balances between NFS and rFactor in terms of realism.
I just hope it's not like Flatout, which does quite a bit of visual damage to the car, but no actual damage. So you end up driving a few hours with your engine on fire...

Oh my, a racing game with licensed cars on GOG. What a pleasant surprise. I'll be sure to buy it this week in case it eventually gets pulled like the Colin McRae game did.

Nice release, GOG! Spent to much money on games and game bundles this week, but I'll wishlist it and buy it later.

TOCA 3 and CM Rally 2005 got pulled because the cars licenses expired.
If you bought them you should still have it and be able to download it from gog any time, although I do not have both games in question myself here so I can't confirm this but I still can download Space Rangers 2, which was pulled also.

But I am also wary for how long this game will be, so I have bought it to be safe.

I'm just glad GOG maintains them for those who already bought it. I've just bought GRID as well. Thanks GOG.

Yeah. I still have Dark falls or what not in my games so that shouldn't be a problem.
The only thing that bother's me is that you can drive porsche only on those early events when you don't have your team.

It's frustrating.

I want to drive porsche.

Ooh the official FIA F1 games are Codemasters too...
Thanks GOG,

Fred_DM: no, this the Codemasters racing game that many consider the best title of its kind in recent memory. also, a tutorial for a racing game? why?
Not a tutorial, but at least a lower-power start. Grid just throws a fast car at you, a twirly first track and hopes you'll abuse the hell out of the rewind button. Not fun at all, especially with that twit nagging you on the radio.
