Rrrrrrrnnnn! EEEEEEERRrrrrnNNNNNN!

Vrrrrooom! If you like fast cars, tight turns, and pulse-pounding races, then today's release is sure to please: Race Driver: GRID--known in the US simply as GRiD--screeches over the finish line for just $7.49 this week during its 50% off intro sale.

In GRID, you're a driver with dreams of going big: you start out driving in others' cars for money, but soon enough you'll start your own team, picking the races you want to compete in, buying the cars and equipment that you need to get the advantage over the other drivers, and traveling the world to compete. With 43 cars and 3 different regions to compete in--the US, Europe, and Japan--there's plenty to captivate adrenaline junkies. But that's not all: GRID also features an innovative "flashback" system, whereby you can rewind time a few crucial seconds to fix any sloppy driving or mistakes, avoid crashes, and generally gain the needed edge to win. With open wheel racing, demolition derbies, GT racing, there's plenty of variety in gameplay.

Real road courses such as Le Mans are in the game, as well as street circuits such as such as the Detroit and Washington D.C.. There are also a number of fictional tracks, such as street courses in San Francisco, and Milan, and Mount Haruna.

Is that enough to get your pulse pounding? Check out Race Driver: GRID this week for just $7.49--that's half off the full $14.99 price!

Miljac: The only thing that bother's me is that you can drive porsche only on those early events when you don't have your team.

It's frustrating.

I want to drive porsche.
Also there is some really narrow tracks where you go so fast. You mean those some almost random challenges where you can collect money? They don't go in circles?

I had some Team Craptastic and heads rolled, my head. I got fired and uninstalled the game then I came back and formatted my hard drive so there's again new changes. But that's my problem. ^^

Edit: Would be sweet if you could get fired. There also should be some thing how you maintain your imago and the team in your free time. "Bunch of know it all's with crappy tires, that's why I slipped and how could I drive properly 'cos I had whole time shattered windshield.."

Ravenvolf: Brilliant, I nearly bought it on Steam the other day but the DRM situation was unclear.

Very happy to see this here, will be buying it as soon as I get home.
Same situation.Been looking at getting this game in about forever and almost bit on it somewhere else. glad i waited. Yeah for drm free!!.... Now if only dirt 2 was here too....
What the fuck? Can't say I expected to see GRID on GOG, at least not this early in the decade. Too bad I picked it up on Steam an eternity ago. Good game, definitely a boost to GOG's racing library.
Hmmm...interesting release, given the discussions surrounding licensed properties. I may be getting ahead of myself, but I wonder if this one will have to be pulled from GOG in a few years time due to expiring licenses for the cars?

Still, an excellent racer which I can really recommend if you haven't played it already.

The one I'm looking forward to is GRID 3, which I've held off buying so far due to its DRM.

(By the way, this isn't the first time I've been hearing about problems with Steam, GRID and Win7, although my retail version works fine. Steam overlay problem perhaps?)

Edit: Of course, I'm thinking about DiRT 3.

By the way this game supports TrackIR, FreeTrack, FacetrackNoIR like IL-2 for a really immersive in cockpit experience.

Agreed. GfWL is a pain in the arse in DiRT 2, and is the only reason why I haven't picked up DiRT 3 despite the really nice sales going on right now.

No soundtrack? :-( Hm, real copy is cheaper but I'm considering supporting GOG :)

I don't remember hearing music other than in replays and those are pretty much generic driving game music.

Let's see if it lasts a week. I have my doubts it'll last to see 2015. As for GRID 3, I've mostly held off due to it's lack of existing. GRID 2 just came out a few days ago, not even a week, and it's well outside of my budget. I don't even want to think about how much it'd cost to get a copy of GRID 3 right now. The flux capacitor alone would go for a king's ransom.
Thanks Gog Team for releasing this one! Definitely must buy for me! The game looks so god and there are quite a few ways to play the game which is awesome.

I was actually thinking about DiRT 3 of course, but I believe GRID 2 uses Steam and is a no-go for me anyway right now.
Someone want to gift me a new computer so I can run this? :P

are Popes allowed to change their country? :D

anyhow, I'm really bad at racing games (I only excel in Colin McRae 2.0) but I haven't played any for so long... I'm going to buy this today :) unless someone is willing to gift it to me? *wink
