Rrrrrrrnnnn! EEEEEEERRrrrrnNNNNNN!

Vrrrrooom! If you like fast cars, tight turns, and pulse-pounding races, then today's release is sure to please: Race Driver: GRID--known in the US simply as GRiD--screeches over the finish line for just $7.49 this week during its 50% off intro sale.

In GRID, you're a driver with dreams of going big: you start out driving in others' cars for money, but soon enough you'll start your own team, picking the races you want to compete in, buying the cars and equipment that you need to get the advantage over the other drivers, and traveling the world to compete. With 43 cars and 3 different regions to compete in--the US, Europe, and Japan--there's plenty to captivate adrenaline junkies. But that's not all: GRID also features an innovative "flashback" system, whereby you can rewind time a few crucial seconds to fix any sloppy driving or mistakes, avoid crashes, and generally gain the needed edge to win. With open wheel racing, demolition derbies, GT racing, there's plenty of variety in gameplay.

Real road courses such as Le Mans are in the game, as well as street circuits such as such as the Detroit and Washington D.C.. There are also a number of fictional tracks, such as street courses in San Francisco, and Milan, and Mount Haruna.

Is that enough to get your pulse pounding? Check out Race Driver: GRID this week for just $7.49--that's half off the full $14.99 price!

HK_47: I'll have to pass on this one, having gotten a Steam copy from my GRID 2 preorder, but this is awesome! FWIW I never had any issues with GRID on W7 either. Hope to see more Codies racing games here!
I've never had issues on W7 with it, either.

I don't generally "do" racing games, but I think GRID is one of *the* best ones I've ever played. It still looks amazing after, what, five or so years? And it played really good, too.
By the way: someone tell VideoNinja that his Vine video looks cool. He's worried. :P

I keep expecting Zoidberg to pop up in that one somewhere :D
Damn you GOG! I was already going to buy Don't Starve, Wizardry 8 and Night of the Rabbit tomorrow, but no, you just have to take every cent away from me :D But seriously, thanks for this, definitely buying this over the week while it's on sale
This will make those who kept moaning about lack of car games on GOG very happy :)
So, how's the damage engine in the game? I don't expect Carmageddon level destruction, but is there visual damage to the cars? And does that damage also effect performance? Can a crash result in your car leaking oil, or the brakes failing?

I will be picking it up either way, just curious.
I'm so buying this! Nice to see some newer racing games on GOG too (DRM-free of course), as racing games don't usually age that well.

Does the PC version have head-to-head racing on the same PC (not online)? I presume not, but still being hopeful... I'd like to play head-to-head some newer racing games than those I have on my PS2.

It looks all kind of debris-tastic.

stinusmeret: I have a steam copy of this but the darn thing is so hard to get running on Win 7, so I might pick this up if it runs smooth on Win 7.
What do you mean? For me it works fine, I have steam copy and win 7 x64.

Almost deleted this because I read many other same saying posts. But didn't. =)

There once was originally some micro stuttering in this game but I guess some patches took care of that. Or something..
Cool game. Very nice looking and complete. I had it on Xbox 360, so I know when I say it is a good game to recommend to anybody looking for some racing goodness... ^_^

From what I remember from playing this years ago your car does take damage although be it in a somewhat reduced form, if you have played any of the previous Racedriver games by Codemasters you know what to expect.
The game balances between NFS and rFactor in terms of realism.

I have Dirts and all but this is my favourite. Nice behind the wheel camera and good rumble.

Edit: infact I had some problem for few seconds with this game. Replays didn't play but it was because it needs few gigs on some hard drive to take those, when I uninstalled some crap (pyo pyo adventure rainwalker.. not really a game I guess) then those played fine.

Brilliant, I nearly bought it on Steam the other day but the DRM situation was unclear.

Very happy to see this here, will be buying it as soon as I get home.
