Great as the Sphinx, powerful as the pharaohs, more time-consuming than building the pyramids.

Pharaoh + Cleopatra, a city management gem from the creators of Caesar III and Zeus + Poseidon, is available now on GOG.com for only $9.99.

You cannot get any better in terms of PC city building: all of the experience in making fantastic construction and management games of Impressions Games (Caesar and Zeus series), and all of the publishing expertise of legendary Sierra Entertainment, combine with a dash of the fascinating world of the Sphinx, Pyramids, and the Egyptian Gods and some historical knowledge, and you've got yourself Pharaoh + Cleopatra. It’s a SimCity type of game but with more content than sand in the Sahara Desert. Building, trade, farming, health care, immigration, military, and, of course, building monuments and temples to please the gods.

Pharaoh + Cleopatra offers not only gorgeous 2D isometric graphics (and hieroglyphic buttons!) with flawless game design, but is an “Egyptology for Dummies” text-book as well: the richly detailed world, dependent on the great Nile and its flows, the wild animals, the great heights and the tragic lows. This game stays true to chronological order of national disasters, births and deaths of notable leaders, and the founding and fall of ancient cities in the history of Egypt.

Pharaoh + Cleaopatra should come with a notice: it’s extremely addictive, time- and eyedrop- consuming, if applied without caution may result in sleep deprivation and extreme interest in ancient cultures of Nile Valley. You have been warned, but it might be too late, since Pharaoh + Cleopatra is available now on GOG.com for only $9.99.
Wow, this is strange. I have played this game SO MUCH that actually i just don't want to buy it. I'll eventually take it on a promo later but for now... i just want to forget about Impressions city builders. So much awesomeness should be forbidden.
Fantastic! Instant buy!
Oh my, oh my, oh my! <runs off for wallet>
With the scorching sun outside it's just the perfect setup to play Pharaoh by recreating in the room the conditions of an sealed ancient tomb.

Thanks.
wow, I remember playing this ages ago, awesome game

Great to see more releases from Activision

gibbeynator: Well, we kinda got Dreamfall and American Nightmare on Tuesday. Though I guess you could argue that we only had American Nightmare UNLOCKED on Tuesday, and we truly got it two weeks ago.
I was joking :D
Yes! *throwing money at GOG* I am busy with AW: American Nightmare now (oddly, playing it is way more fun than playing AW) but I had to buy this.

SirCabbage: I love this game so damn much.

But Im curious,
I dont remember ever being able to see inside the tomb like it shows in one of the screenshots. How did I never notice you being able to do that? is it only on a certain monument? I preferred pyramids.
Yes I'm wondering that too... With about 100+ hours of playing on Gold edition, i can't remember seeing through a pyramid like this.
Shit. Ok. I will buy it much later than I expected, no spare monies now. But thanks for this magnificent release!

First I didn't recognize, it's 9.99 , so I will have to wait a while.

I don't remember either. Maybe it is a Cleopatra feature. I love these games but they are so repetitive that I never finished them and as a consequence I never played Cleopatra. Especially when you have to restart the mission because at the end you realise that there is a hole in the pyramid and that it will never be finished even though you spent hours importing stones, 1 by 1.

1 left to go, the best: Emperor

Alfie3000: I'd love to know if the constant crashing has been fixed? Especially with the expansion it always made the game more unstable. If it doesn't crash every 15 - 40 minutes I'll totally re-buy this.
I've played those games for yeatrs and they didn't crash a single time.

On some level, I'm sure I knew that. Also, double sad that this is probably the end of Activision Thursdays.
Here it is!
My favourite in the series.
Thanks.
