Welcome to relativity! Get your complimentary fez.

FEZ,an original, incredibly deep perspective-twisting puzzle-platformer with countless awesome stages to explore, is available 10% off for pre-order on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 until Wednesday, May 1, at 9:59AM GMT, when we expect the game to arrive.

A unique title like FEZ demands we did something special. This is why we decided to start a little weird contest, so you get the chance to Win a fez to play FEZ in a fez! That's right! We're giving away 20 FEZ fezes to people who pre-order the game. The game's puzzles are highly complicated, challenging, original, and complex, so we decided to keep the contest rules as plain, simple, and uninspired as possible. Here's what you need to do:

1. Pre-order FEZ here for only $8.99: www.gog.com/gamecard/fez
2. Write to contest@gog.com and tell us why you should win a fez
3. Profit: win one of the 20 awesome fezes to give away! (We'll start shipping them worldwide on May 1st, so that's the deadline for submissions.)

See the fez here.

FEZ is a puzzle-platformer like no other. First of all, its gameplay mechanics come with a perspective-changing twist, that make every stage of the game not one, but four 2D landscapes. You'll have to use that to your advantage and figure out how to make seemingly impossible jumps. That's just scratching the surface, though. There's no telling just how many complex and original puzzles have been hidden in the world of FEZ. That might be the first game in quite some time, that will make you take notes while you play, so you can crack some of the game's secrets and understand its strange languages. There's so many layers and levels to the world you'll be exploring, that you probably won't see the half of it at your first playthrough! Pair that with incredibly diverse level-design, and charming pixel-art (ummm... sorry, trixel-art) graphics, and what you get is one of the most remarkable titles of our time. Be sure not to miss it!

Pre-order FEZ today to enjoy its mind-bending perspective-twisting charm at 10% discount! Remember, the pre-order offer lasts until Wednesday, May 1, at 9:59AM GMT

I think that the problem with this guy is not his opinion, but how he chose to express it - by using generalization. Opinions worded like that tend to sound much less mature. If I say "most games on [insert online game retailer name here] are terrible", will anybody believe that I've actually played/seen enough of them to be able to judge almost the entire catalog?
Mhh... this would be the perfect game, when it comes to humblebundle. I would gladly pay 10$ for it and give it all to charity and to humblebundle as tip. But this would make me as immature as Phil Fish behaves and so I probably won't do that. But the idea is really tempting...

Nah, it's called standing by your guns. If you'd rather give the money to charity, then you should do it. He doesn't care what anyone else has to say about him apparently, so you don't have to bother if someone else or his fans think you are immature or something.

I won't be getting his game, personally, and judging by this thread, he seems to have more then enough people willing to plonk down the cash. One or two non-buyers wouldn't hurt him. Better to save the money for other GOG games.
Seriously, though... History knows quite a few people who created wonderful things while also being complete jerks. Imagine what our culture would've been like nowadays if, back then, they were being deliberately ignored due to their attitude?
I´ve been waiting for quite some time for this :)
Completely not interested in supporting Phil Fish financially, nor am I "excited" for yet another derivative game. Thanks for the effort, GOG, but no thank you.

Reasons for doing so is his behaviour towards Team Meat, primarily. If you wanna be a dick to your customers, fine, but leave people who do actually appreciate theirs alone.
:)

I thought Xbox trial showed potential for game but Phil Fish being a dick and also refusing to fix broken Xbox patch cause me to say no

Fenixp: Nope. I don't really have any intention to unless someone tells me that it's not 'All AAA games suck, indie games are the only good thing ever!' garbage.
Its more like "Game developers are angels, publishers and business partners are devils!".

Especially about Phil's story... they let him tell his side of the story about how awesome he is, yet in the damn 40 minutes that he appears in, he constantly trashtalks his ex business partner, someone we have no idea who it is, nor we find out his side of the story.

EDIT: I don't care who was right or wrong, but the fact that they don't show the other side of the story makes this whole thing smell fishy.

Why is it that I always find off-topic conversations way more intriguing than the ontopic ones?

Anyway, I think Japanese gaming still rocks, you just have to see beyond Square Enix and Sega. Look at the games released/developed by Atlus, Tecmo Koei, NISA, Ghostlight and you will find some of my most favourite games. Sure, they are niche, but I think people on GoG know that niche stuff is not rarely the best stuff. :)

Zoidberg: *snippyti
I know that, I actually use C#. ;)
And you can't deny one thing: if you develop for a console, you won't get angry letters in your inbox because your game is unplayably bad on half of the hardware you advertised it on. (Eador... khm *cough)
I also argue that it is easier to develop for consoles, that is why many small garage developers experiment on homebrew console titles before moving onto "real" projects.

EDIT: of course, it also depends on the developers. It is a fact that some say they've found much more comfortable working onto PC.

Apart from all this drama queen BS about Mr. Fish said this or that, isn't Fez a trademarked name? That little candy dispenser that had cute little cartoonish heads on top? *snicker*

No, that's "Pez"--- an Americanized shortening of German Pfefferminz! :)
Edit: Actually, not even Americanized, the Austrian inventor came up with the name.

Oooh, thank you very much. I knew there was something fishy about the sound of that name. Thanks for clearing it up.

He's a dick, but the whole Xbox patch thing couldn't go through because of Microsoft's shitty fees just to put it up after the first one.
I am probably NOT the first to make a FEZ-ception joke. I will, however, make such a joke regardless if I am first or not.
