Welcome to relativity! Get your complimentary fez.

FEZ,an original, incredibly deep perspective-twisting puzzle-platformer with countless awesome stages to explore, is available 10% off for pre-order on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 until Wednesday, May 1, at 9:59AM GMT, when we expect the game to arrive.

A unique title like FEZ demands we did something special. This is why we decided to start a little weird contest, so you get the chance to Win a fez to play FEZ in a fez! That's right! We're giving away 20 FEZ fezes to people who pre-order the game. The game's puzzles are highly complicated, challenging, original, and complex, so we decided to keep the contest rules as plain, simple, and uninspired as possible. Here's what you need to do:

1. Pre-order FEZ here for only $8.99: www.gog.com/gamecard/fez
2. Write to contest@gog.com and tell us why you should win a fez
3. Profit: win one of the 20 awesome fezes to give away! (We'll start shipping them worldwide on May 1st, so that's the deadline for submissions.)

See the fez here.

FEZ is a puzzle-platformer like no other. First of all, its gameplay mechanics come with a perspective-changing twist, that make every stage of the game not one, but four 2D landscapes. You'll have to use that to your advantage and figure out how to make seemingly impossible jumps. That's just scratching the surface, though. There's no telling just how many complex and original puzzles have been hidden in the world of FEZ. That might be the first game in quite some time, that will make you take notes while you play, so you can crack some of the game's secrets and understand its strange languages. There's so many layers and levels to the world you'll be exploring, that you probably won't see the half of it at your first playthrough! Pair that with incredibly diverse level-design, and charming pixel-art (ummm... sorry, trixel-art) graphics, and what you get is one of the most remarkable titles of our time. Be sure not to miss it!

Pre-order FEZ today to enjoy its mind-bending perspective-twisting charm at 10% discount! Remember, the pre-order offer lasts until Wednesday, May 1, at 9:59AM GMT

G-Doc: Yes, we've got 20 of them to give away and all you gotta do is pre-order the game and tell us why would you want a fez to get one of them :-)

JMich: Usual question in these things. Does buying a gift-code makes one eligible for this offer or not?
Of course! :-) A chance to win a fez with every pre-purchase :-)

Tsugirai: Anyways, I find this whole PC gamer master race concept quite fun, it is like saying you are better than golf players because you don't play golf with a golf club, but with a baseball bat, because you can hit golf balls with baseball bats too!
There's a lot of good reasons as to why should you find 'PC master race' to be silly, but I just have got to reply to that. Your allegory is so flawed it hurts. Computers are just that - devices made to crunch numbers. They're designed to run anything that has been programmed for them, including software to process tables and videogames. They're not in any way, shape or form ill-suited for the latter - they're as suited as a gaming console. The only real argument is whether traditional PC controls are better than traditional console controls, but that is very much rendered moot by the ability to connect those control devices to your PC (and connect PC controls to consoles, but I have no idea how well that works as I have never tried it.)

Hm, I might be a late pre-orderer then, depending on the JA kickstarter and the weekend promo.

Btw, is that you wearing the Fez?
Been waiting for this game to come on PC as I'm not a console guy, Glad the day is finally coming.
Loved it on xbox and would highly recommend it.

Oh, come on, it wasn't that bad. Okay then, not a a baseball bat, a stick. A console is made for the sole purpose of gaming, when a PC is a multifunctional device made to run calculations. It can run games, yes, but that's not it's main purpose, and the diversity of the hardware makes it much harder to make a well-working experience for everyone.

Wow, how nice!
What a unique way to win a fez :D.

bansama: Who knows, this game -- which to me looks like nothing more than a take on Nebulus -- might even be fun.
I can see why you'd think that, but from what I know of Fez's game mechanics, they're not really comparable in any way.

Apart from that, Nebulus (or Tower Toppler, as it was known in the US) is one of my favourite games on both the C64 and Amiga. Even my sister, who otherwise didn't game at all, loved playing Nebulus.
Is the contest worldwide? I would hate to win the competition but would not be able too get it if the contest was for only for the US. :(

They're more likely to be Poland only than US only. :p
Anyway, from the newspost: "We'll start shipping them worldwide on May 1st, so that's the deadline for submissions."
But only Valve deals with hats!

We do our best to make nothing on GOG.com limited to one region. One fair price for the entire world extends to worldwide contests whenever it's possible. This is such a case. If you win a fez, we'll gladly ship it to Ireland (or whatever your current location is). :-)

EDIT:
And the answer to JMich's question is: yes. That is me, accompanied by our lovely colleague, head of the product department.

JustADreamer: When people asked him about the possibility of a PC port he tweeted that it was a console game and PCs are for spreadsheets.
He didn't say for spreadsheets only :). If the game is good it doesn't really matter what he said anyway. Noone can force you buy it either. But Fish could just shut up and not hurt his own game's sales.

What the fez is that? :D

Adzeth: Have you watched Indie Game: The Movie? If you have, it was the guy who lives a very troubled life.

Fenixp: Nope. I don't really have any intention to unless someone tells me that it's not 'All AAA games suck, indie games are the only good thing ever!' garbage.
No, it’s not „All AAA games suck, indie games are the only good thing ever!” garbage. It’s great, entertaining movie. Grab it on steam sale as I did. ;)
