I would wait for max payne on gog because the steam version got alot of problems on modern systems.
I got sound bugs and random crashes with it on w7 64 bit.
However max payne 2 works flawless on my system.
I must have finished the first one over 10 times. I remember trying the second one and for some reason I couldn't get into it at all, can't remember why. I got the first two from steam 2 days ago because it was 75% off so I'm gonna give max payne 2 another try.

Ian: Hi I don't really need another series, however I have been sitting on the fence about this for a long time. Any thoughts would be welcome please ?
max payne was freaking awesome!

this one i remember years later having played much of the game through (if i didnt in fact beat it).
i played through it more than once if i didnt beat it either time, or maybe i played part 2 (not sure though).

it was one of the earlier ones that had bullet time if memory is serving me correctly. like the matrix films.
there would be an impossible amount of enemies but you could activate bullet time, dive to the side or forward and get tons of shots off in rapid succession c/o his drug addiction (i think) and why youd have to find pain bottles.

perhaps things are jumbled but i really enjoyed that game. if it came to GOG id definitely buy it asap.
wanted to pull the trigger the other day when 1+2 were on sale for like $3.50 or something low, but hoping it pops up on GOG since they have some other 'newer' shooters.
didnt want to look too much into it lest i find out the company is MIA from GOG entirely and id have to await another 'big deal' with some publishers and GOG for it to grace the GOG front pages.

Azrael360: GOG is going to have MP1 and MP2?! That would be awesome! ^_^

damn now I feel I should have waited for the gog version instead |:
I don't have any inside information, but here's what I do know:

1. Months ago GOG mentioned that they were close to signing one of their top three most wanted publishers and Take-Two Interactive was on the list.
2. People "in the know" have been hinting that a bonanza of classic releases are coming in May.
3. GOG had a "business meeting" with Remedy, the developers of Max Payne 1 & 2.

Vote for the series on the wishlist:

Max Payne
Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne
Max Payne 3

I fear it will only be Death Rally, since on Remedy's store page there's no mention of Max Payne, while on the games page it directs you to Rockstar.
On the other hand, 1) Remedy Games is working on a new AAA title and 2) It is possible that they are getting the MP games back.

You know what that means? Alan Wake 2 will be released exclusively on GOG! Woot!
Go for it Ian, excellent game, excellent plot, excellent ambience, excellent soundtrack, excellent gameplay, 10/10 rate for me, one of Sam Lake's better works.

Robette: Aside from that, the movie wasn't good but I really don't get why it is so ridiculously low rated.

Licurg: Because it had Mark Wahlberg in it ...
HEY! I'm not a huge Mark Wahlberg fan but Boogie Nights is hands down the greatest movie EVER.

I love this movie. It is awesome. Just don't expect it to be anything like the Max Payne games. And if you are talking about Max Payne, the game...play it because it is one of the best games ever made.

I played all three parts and found them all awesome. Part 1 and 2 are almost the same in design. In part 3 a lot of fans complained that the style isn't like film noir anymore. It's a breach of style, but it has a very good story and gameplay. I liked part 3 too.

Max Payne 1-3 are all awesome.
Highly recommend them.
I would say the first one is good anyways. I haven't played the others. Max's "doing a poo" facial expression is a bit weird though.
Max Payne 1 & 2 are some of my favourite games ever. MP1 blew the gaming scene away when it came out especially since it released shortly after the Matrix movies fever, not to mention it had one of the best graphics engine for its time. Add the deep Noire atmosphere to it, good story telling and great gameplay, you'd have an ace game. The only thing I disliked about it were the nightmare levels, I leave it to you to find out about it.

Btw, it is a must to replay Max Payne with the Kungfu mod:

Think I've replayed both games about 5-6 times now since 2001, about 3 times each with the Kungfu mod.
Never played them, but my husband who is really nitpicky with games played the first two through and liked them a lot.
