I think if I had been lynched my lynch scene might have depicted me escaping or something. That's the only way I could see my doppelgänger power being remotely fair.

Night Actions:

Night 1 - Didn't do anything.

Night 2 - Murdered QuadrAlien

Before I got this PM I was asked whether I wanted to hide the body or not, I chose to hide it.

Windom smiles affably as he sneaks up on a stupid girl who stayed out too late. Those idiots, they killed Sranadha, they killed his Key, his way into another universe! It was unacceptable, inconceivable even. Things... There had to be something done about this, and what he was going to do would help calm his nerves. Let him think. It was a simple motion, really, a practiced one. Arm under the chin, she's bent down looking at the ground or this would never work, oh but it was too fun to pass the opportunity up. Keep the throat in the crook of the elbow. Jump back. Safe, quiet, without any mess at all. Oh, and she was still alive, just with the small inconvenience of full-body paralysis.

Which made the next part even more fun. A canoe and an awl. Poke a little hole in the bottom, but not the very bottom, can't have the poor girl covering it up by accident, can we? There were some mighty fine rapids just downhill from his shack in the woods, where he'd already dragged the conscious but immobilized girl and where he'd prepared the canoe. Oh, and to the rapids they were going. A wonderful vacation, almost heavenly. He got a rash if he strayed too far from home though. So sorry honey. But she could stay as long as she liked. Oh, apparently she didn't like it much here either -- he let go of the canoe to head back home and she was off down the cataracts. Shame, he didn't like the area much but he didn't mind her.

Night 3 - Murdered ViolatorX

I chose not to hide the body this time, kind of hoping it would speed the game up.

Windom has been poring through his books of occult wisdom for awhile now. He realizes he doesn't need Sranadha at all. He just has to have 13 people die in this town in a specific pattern -- which is being followed to the T. It's like fate can't help itself. But there still needs to be a death this night. He feels the sudden urge to go on a little stroll around town.

A few blocks into his little walk, he comes across the town reporter, of the Oaken Den Daily. Oh boy, but he would make a fine coat, had anyone ever told him that? Windom decides he'll make sure to prove it, as well. Might be the kind of person who can't take a compliment. A rip up the spine with a scalpel that Windom found in his pocket, whispered assurances that he'll be perfect for someone's wardrobe. Oh, why does he have to struggle so? First he tries to bite, then he tries to hit Windom with his head. Luckily, Windom has a better position than this man, and he has a weapon. A pause from the work to cleanly sever the spine, and he finishes up.

Oh my, what a mess though. Both clothes and the person they came from are filthy now. No matter, it's not even a five minute walk to the town square and its fountain. Just clean off the fabric, get the man in there so he can bathe himself, fold the clothes nice and neat. There. All done.

Funny thing though, looks like that fellow wants to practice holding his breath. And he really is quite dirty after all, the whole fountain is blooming crimson.

And that was it.

Got this from pazzer:

can't as cleared all messages due to fact kept getting your have new message emails. Even though messages were months old.

Don't remember much. Think it went something like you have studied the occult for years. You are useless in the current crisis but this may change if certain events happen.

You may not reveal your knowledge of the occult until something out of the ordinary happens.
I dissappeared as I crashed my car, when i got back you'd lynched me and it was 99% dead game at the time too

You are: Leon Faucheux -- Madcap Vigilante

Leon Faucheux is a Canadian who saw his small town in the Yukon Territory destroyed, not by harsh weather or sickness, but by supernatural forces that tore apart the town. Only 17, he went out of his way to make sure the three beings responsible would never try that again. He's started to pick up the knack for finding more, now, at the embittered age of 34. It's always the same: a small town, ripe for the picking. People change. Start killing each other in fear. And in the end there's nothing left but a few soulless husks, once human but now something vile, walking into the wilderness. This town, Oaken Den, just past the Canadian border in the state of Maine: it has the stink of terror on it. Make sure those things don't live to see another day.

Win Conditions: You win when all of the horrors plaguing the town are dead. No one else has to live, no one else has to die. You can't save small towns from cosmic horrors if you're pushing daisies: if you are killed, you cannot win.

Post Restrictions: They call you crazy, because you are crazy: no matter what others call the supernatural entities, you must call them "fake people," "mindworms" or something else evoking serious mental illness.

Powers: Night action: Once per night you may choose to make a nightkill or to investigate. There is no limit to the number of times you can use these powers.

Robbeasy night 1

Leon was following a citizen of the little town in northern Maine, on a hunch he might be one of THEM. The THINGS, the THINGS that destroyed his hometown, the things he's hunted down and killed ever since. Things with their souls twisted and their bodies hollow.

Following the kid home, he finds him doing a whole lot of nothing. Sitting on his laptop quietly before going to bed. Strange, but ... normal. Just a bit too unusual to be one of those dead mannequin men, a bit of a character quirk that they so lack, but normal enough to not be one of their pawns. Leon leaves the perch he made for himself in a tree outside the kid's window and slinks into the night, brooding. Who could it be?

ViolatorX night 2

Leon could feel his work was just beginning here in Oaken Den, despite having watched a man ventilate one of his targets. Wonderful, that expression on her face, like the wolf caught by the bear. But now, there was a wriggling in his bones like worms in the marrow: they lived here still, oozing through the cracks. They weren't right, not at all, and he had seen a man in the crowd who certainly wasn't right: had a look in his eye like he was examining everything. A learned look, but a young man, not yet past 25. Not right.

He gets to the man's "office" -- office, probably a place of worship for some dark god -- just in time to see him leaving. Good, good! Makes one wonder, what a thing gets up to this late at night, yeah? No time for decent folks to leave the house indeed. Leon turns around and begins to tail the guy. He don't look so attentive now, nah, looks scared of something.

Which rings untrue. These things control their bodies flawlessly. Betraying emotions? Only when the reaper is before their very eyes. He drives parallel to the guy, just a block away so the idiot doesn't see him watching. This goes on for some time, Leon watching his prey's face. He stops in front of a house which is dark and has no car in the driveway. His house? But no, he doesn't leave the car. For a moment he seizes up. Then suddenly, takes a pill and drives away. A pill? Not a thing that the THINGS would do. Leon stops dumbfounded at the intersection, watching his quarry drive into the night. How could he be so far off the mark twice?

Twilghtbard night 3

Leon goes to find that fellow with the distant, wandering glint in his eyes. Maybe he'd been wrong twice before, but this time he's got it. Oh yes, this time he has it indeed.

The man was born in Montana. He's been living in Oaken Den for a long time now, though. He drove a beige car, an older model Chevrolet. He knew the man's license plate number by heart. Leon watches in a parking lot a bit to the east of his own house. He has a feeling this fellow likes to drive around at night.

He is not disappointed. He silently pulls out behind the man, who stops in front of Leon's house momentarily. Oh ho, so he's looking for ME is he? Well now, we'll just see about that.

Leon tails the man for awhile, then the guy takes a sharp right back towards Leon's house. To add insult to injury, he kills his lights and drives blind, out of sight in the pitch dark night. Cursing, Leon drives in a circle around the block a couple times. Finding no trace of his quarry, he returns to his house, about to chock this night up as another failure. He traces his way up to his steps, thinking nervously. What if he just missed one of the --

He hears rocks crunch to his right and snaps his head to the side. Yes. He sees him there, just outside of the range of any direct light source. Deadly still, all but silent. Watching. Leon watches back for a long moment. At least ten minutes. He slowly turns towards the door again, a test. When he's not attacked, he lets himself into his house and crouches in front of the door, thinking wild thoughts, desperate thoughts. That's three normal people he mistook as THINGS. It's not right. He's better than this, normally. It's ridiculous.

Soooooooooo, just our SK? Seems kinda, quick and painless if we were have caught him early, I wonder how doppelganger would have worked in the long run if we had caught Primal Earlier....but, no sense trying to figure all of that now I guess.
Wow, my falseclaim actually pretty neatly mirrored Andy's real role.

Also: gah, Pazzer! Hopefully Ghost can come and shed light at some point in the future. Does anyone know if there was a spectator/dead thread?

And yeah, just me. Hence why I was so overpowered.

I bet if I'd been killed early I would have been given a really cryptic 'death' but if I'd died late then Ghost might have made it obvious I was still alive.

So - one SK only , but 5 aliens who all needed the other 4 dead to get the win.

I presume town 'win' condition would have been when SK AND all aliens dead?

Technically, aliens weren't anti-town, as they needed townies to rule, I guess.

Exactly; our victory condition even said "You win when all anti-town factions are dead", which I suppose translates to "when SirPrimalform is dead, twice". Everyone except him was town-aligned, to some extent.

Ah i gotcha - what i dont really get is how we would have been able to know SirPF was still going after killing him first time. I guess something in the flavour would have hinted at it...i sort of see how it was planned now - even if the aliens sussed the SK they would have had to keep him alive until the other aliens were dead to get their win......unbelievably difficult!

Robbeasy: [...]
Of we would unknowingly get Town win despite still ongoing killings, with aliens trying to out each other.

Yes - any actual townie would get instant win as soon as SirPF bit the dust...

Did Ghost not run this scenario past some people beford putting into practice?? Surely she aint the only person who knew the setup?

I'm not sure if this is true. Most of the town posts said they'd win when all threats to the town were removed. I don't see the Omniscients wanting to stop their private war just because the serial killer died. I'm guessing the Omniscients would count as threats until there was only one left.
Hey guys. Sorry about your game! I was enjoying watching it.

Who's hosting the next game hm?
There's a board here for discussion but it seems a bit derelict, a mite abandoned. Take a look yourself. Watch out for ghosts. http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/forum_mafia_administration_and_general_discussion .

Oh yeah, I wanted to bump that thread after M7 finally ends. I think Robbeasy and Ubivis were cooking up something, and I vaguely remember jesskitten said so as well. But you're right, it's quite a ghost town there.
