MaGo72: Then a decent answer from the company would have been, the main problems are solved the game is ok, there are no longer any game breaking bugs, just some minor ones. I think most of us agree the company handled this wrong, neither side is right here. OR should I say the company employee...

Gnostic: That the developers release the game as finished even though they know their game is so buggy that they have to release 4 patch in 2 weeks does not paint their integrity in a good way.

It is not demanding an apology because the game has bugs, it is demanding an apology for releasing the game in a buggy state as finished.

BKGaming: I'm sorry but that just shows lack of knowledge of how software development works. Was there bugs they probably knew about close to release, probably... we won't know for sure, but it's likely. It's also most likely if they did they were simple bugs that could be fixed quickly. When you go from a small sample size (ie early access) to a full release bugs are found very quickly because of the sheer amount of people playing. It's impossible to find every bug before release, or have a software with zero bugs. It will never happen as long as humans are programming them.

Anything major found was fixed quickly, game has bugs but nothing critical for sure. No apology is needed, it's simply the result of software development and human error. If they had released the game and didn't patch it or as you say moved on, then sure then an apology is warranted.

The belief that they released early for Christmas, is simply that a belief, and even if true... that's business, they're not the first nor will they be the last to do so.
Really? They have this list of bugs nicely presented to them since February and constantly updating and they release the game anyway. Now you cannot claim the devs do not know the number of bugs.

Oh so that's business, they're not the first nor will they be the last to do so.

Oh since we are screwed for so long that it is OK being screwed and we should enjoy it? That's why reviews of the integrity of the developers are so important so we have a better chance to avoid being screwed.

I do not know about you, but most of the game I played does not have many bugs to break my gaming experience. It must have suck when most of the games you played are buggy. I expect a crowdfunded project to treat its customers better than big publishers, not role playing EA

You're posting a constantly updated list, far as I know only trivial non major bugs could have been present before release, and then more were added after. Which is probably what happen, or fixed bugs could have been left on it at release.

No, not at all. But I've seen good developers... and I've seen bad developers. Trying to make them the bad guys here were they are attempting to fix the issues quickly is wrong. They are a small indie studio and this is the first game. Let them learn from there mistakes and get some experience before writing them off. A bad developer would have took your money, released the game unfinished and then walked away never fixing it at all.

Example Bethesda, never learns and they release all there games buggy as hell and the fans have to fix them every single time. But Bethesda also makes huge epic open world games, were bug finding becomes a nightmare unless many people are playing to find them.

PS Hmm, ok it was not the company who called him a dickbag.
Yeah, as I said, Annie Mitsoda was really unprofessional with how she handled the issue.
I personally don't care if they release a game in a buggy state(*), as long as they fix bugs actively afterwards. I start caring if a developer abandons a game in a buggy state.

(*)As long as the bugs don't affect outside the game, e.g. the Myth 2 (and I think Half-life) cases where e.g. uninstalling the game could remove rest of your programs as well, or some similar crap.

tinyE: What the hell is a 'dickbag'?

I mean the logical answer would be a bag of dicks, or a bag used for storing dicks, but that seems like kind of a strange insult.
lol, this post gave me a big laugh and got Christmas off to a good start for me!
My personal opinion on this matter is that the 'dickbag' behaved like a complete dick and the people at DoubleBear overreacted in sheer anger. I can understand them.
The original and solely interesting question, whether DB knowingly released an unfinished game for the sake of greed (to exaggerate it) is not even discussed anymore.
At least this will keep anyone from trying to get rid of unpleasant criticism.

TheTonyOne: Well there's a game I won't be buying.
Same here. I don't want to give my money to people who think censorship is acceptable.

Calling someone a bag used for penis storage sounds like a good insult to me.

Not nearly as entertaining as JimFnSterlingSon vs. Slaughtering Grounds :)

No Louis CK fans here huh?
What a PR clusterfuck! Ultimately, if DB released an unfinished game just for the holiday sales or a buggy mess, then they were just asking for it. Not only with that post, but with all the negative reviews that will accumulate. At the same time, to try and smear the poster rather than resolve his issue is just poor form. That's akin to an executive of a company coming in and demeaning a customer in the store in front of other customers.

Then, Annie Mitsoda continues to show her "ugly" side with comments like "one fucker who thinks we owe him an apology for bugs being in a game!" Well, it is your work product...You can't offer a token apology for your lack of work ethic or your need to drive sales by prematurely putting out to market?

And, if that wasn't bad enough, she continues with "What possible reason could a $30 purchase warrant [this harassment]?) I'm sure if Annie purchased something she considered a POS, she'd want to do something too.

As for the poster, I do agree he went overboard if he did indeed threaten "ruination". But, he made his point, and so will the other reviews that come in over the time from releasing a half-baked game.

I for one will not be considering buying from this developer. Now DoubleBear is on my list, and can keep company with UPlay!

EDIT:
Just a quick edit due to a freaky coincidence... Overkill has redeemed itself thanks to a response from my email today...not sure if it had anything to do with this post, but they have been removed from my list. Thank you, Overkill, for listening to your customers! :-)

Spelling error, it was a "v" not a "b".

Like $30 dollars is nothing... Not everyone has a good job that lets them make $20 an hour or more in front of a desk with a computer... $30 for many people is three hours of hard work at a shitty job that makes them hate every day of their life. This reminds me of what happened between one of the Project Zomboid devs and his customers.
