RedneckSith: I downloaded some mods for WoW from Curse a few years back. Figured I'd use their handy little installer package... which proceeded to install a keylogger on my system, resulting in my account being hacked a few days later. Upon contacting them about the incident (to both politely chastise and warn them that they need to check their downloads more thoroughly), I was basically told by their representative to 'f**k off', and that it wasn't their problem.

Not even free games will convince me to ever do anything involving that site again.

Apologies for lateness of the reply. To answer your question, no, I don't. It was quite a while ago, and I've switched PCs & email addresses since then. Wish I did though, because without it my tale is naught but hearsay. I'll say that I'm not the only one out there with an experience like that with Curse.com though.

Take my story for what you will. If it saves even one person the trouble they caused me, then I'm happy.

I will say that if people want to download stuff from their site, don't use any of their software. Install the files manually, and scan them thoroughly for malware.

gibbeynator: This seems like a lot of stuff to go through just to get a copy of Megabyte Punch. I think I'll wait until the next time it's on sale. Should be soon, it's pretty old.

I just got that game in about two minutes; all done on my iPad in Safari, I'll never install their client or use their services; but for $6 the bundle gave me a bunch of Steam codes and a GOG game that I would have bought for $3 next sale, so I'm happy.
