Fairfox: extra sharp cheddar ftw
tho ive been eatin' it infused (?) with onion late lee an' tahts kinda nom with a turkey sausage sandwich
avatar
TARFU: If you like that, you should try the horseradish cheddar. Very tasty.
You understood that!? :P

BTW, just cracked open a bottle of Welchs' Sparkling Red Grape Juice. I'll be sipping it as I pretend to smoke my bubble gum cigar.

I like to keep it classy.

Matewis: Gouda all the way!
avatar
TARFU: You know, gouda cheese melts real nice and so it seems like an obvious choice, but in my experience the flavor of the gouda gets lost in the making of the sandwich somewhere. You need an robust cheese whose flavor won't get drowned out.

I like to have freshly sliced gouda with a fresh crisp apple from my fridge (anyone else keep apples in the fridge?) though. That can be the perfect snack sometimes.
Yep I don't think I would be able to tell the difference between melted cheddar and melted gouda. Gouda is at its best when you just slice a piece off and put it on something.

And apples always go in the fridge! Depending on the type of apple, they get mushier faster when outside the fridge, and I can't stand a mushy/mealy apple :\

Perfect cheese snack? cracker + butter + marmite + slice of gouda. And force yourself to only eat the 5 or so that you make. Otherwise you'll try to replace an entire meal with it!
I cannot imagine putting both butter AND Marmite on the same cracker.

I do butter and peanut butter quite often. *shrug*

edit: Bagels and toast mostly.

As of present... Brewed tea (in a large Quart jar...), and Kimchi....

I couldn't either, until I tried it for the first time. Not a lot of either of course, and preferably not on a terribly salty cracker.

Well, maybe I will try some day and add some kim chee on top.
Bring on the chips and popcorn.

Here.
2 litre Espresso extract intravenous...

HereForTheBeer: Lately, just ice water. I'm on a hydration kick, and have really cut back on alcohol and sodas. That leaves water and the occasional juice.
avatar
Matewis: Have you tried mixing water and juice 50/50? Best of both worlds: pleasantly fruity and refreshingly quenching. Store bought juice is just too strong for me.
I haven't, but will give that a shot. One thing I've been doing lately is to grate some lime zest into my water. Nice little perk to the flavor. Helps, too, that we have really good well water here.
My preferred drink depends on what I'm playing. If I'm playing turn based games, in particular RPGs, I prefer scotch. While playing other turn based games I prefer tea or coffee.

I don't have a preferred snack, I eat snacks socially with family and friends. If I had to chose one, it would be beef jerky.

drmike: Bah....

I drink the blood of my enemies and suck out the marrow from their bones....

./insert evil laugh.

The rest of the time, it's water and crackers.

Diets suck.

Even worse is that Charlotte water makes me nauseous.
you mean to tell me they Classsified "Charlotte" watter safe to drink? when I was there they had several health warnings airing on the television, even boiling the water didn't resolve the issue.
Water, and nothing else.

Maighstir: Depends on what I'm playing.

When slaying hobgoblins in Baldur's Gate, I naturally drink Hobgoblin from Wychwood Brewery.
More often, it's tea. Green, black, or white. Not too fruity. Sometimes with a bit of honey.
Yes another hobgoblin fan! Their ruby ale is the best; pity it's so damn expensive.
