Isn't this the sale that as soon as it's over, it starts back up again with the numbers being slightly different?

The good "roguelikes" aren't even included: FTL, Into the Breach, Slay the Spire, Monster Train.

BTW, Atomicrops wasn't good. I bought it on release date and was very disappointed. It could be made good (even retaining "roguelike", but it's not. Like, if you manage to get a gun upgrade in some way, it only lasts for 1 day and then you need another. I wanted it to be, but limited ammo in a shooter kind of sucks.

Agreed, let me add some more to the above: The Curious Expedition, Caves of Qud.
Though Tales of Maj' Eyal & Desktop Dungeons, which are included in this sale, are both great games.
Roguelike, or Rogue-lite?

And yet Spelunky 2 and Rogue Legacy 2 are still not here...

Wow, I got a computer which is much better than my crappy laptop, and was hoping for a decent weekly sale, to get me some good games to play on it. But what do we get? A Rogueshite-Sale!
If there´s one thing in gaming, that I hate, then it is Roguelikes!
I know, there are people who like this kind of games, but frankly, I don`t get it!
So please explain me: What is the magic of Roguelikes? What makes you wanna play games, that are frustrating, unfair and with permadeath?

Hattest du einen schlechten Tag? I love getting to do short runs at a game with some randomized element and the possibility to unlock new content that I can use in the next runs. A good roguelite can make death itself rewarding. I think that 80s coin-ops or NES games were unfair, not roguelites.
Now that I think about it the most unfair games are classic adventure games with abstruse and unconsistent puzzle solutions. But you can still enjoy the poop out of them. CIV VI clearly cheats, how is that fair? Still people love it and want "one more turn" over and over. Have you ever tried Dead Cells? Would you dare to call that a crappy game?

Good question, though i guess each one of us will have a different answer. Personally, i'm not really a roguelike fan*, yet there are several games that are categorized as roguelikes** and i do enjoy them immensely. I don't mind the Permadeath / Procedural Generated combo*** when it comes to this genre, and somehow i find them to be quite relaxing at times.

(*) as in, i don't actively track every roguelike release and instabuy it the moment i see it
(**) or even maybe rogue-lites
(***) typical to roguelikes, i think
Good question. I am also not a fan of these type of games.

However I won't bash this sale, because I am happy, that we got a sale at all.
If you have played Fate Hunters early demo and final game: how much of a difference there is between the two in balance and mechanics, other than how it looks? Because I wasn't impressed with how the demo plays.

And ADOM. Don't forget the good ol' ADOM

I couln't like that one. Everything feels fake, like enemies and guns are props, the physics felt floaty. Also it's unpolished, hardly a great game. Cool that just one person made it but the result is amateurish.
Roguelike or "roguelike" (i.e., nothing at all like rogue)?

Ah, "roguleike". Never mind. Not that gog or its users care (I mean, one of the first posts here thinks FTL and a few other non-roguelikes should be included).
