Gilius helps Kyp and Bellandra to tie the doc with his fishnet if needed. Once done (or immediately if he's not needed), he joins Count Karstein to investigate the cargo hold.
Tower team, Mighty The Mighty Matey

Mighty looked deep into the tunnel. "Looks like it is a long walk. Mighty tired, with walking .Mighty thinks we better go back to the boat."

He noticed on the way back that someone snagged the mug."Pirates. If something is not bolted or glued to the floor they’ll take it." Mighty murmured to himself. He noticked one of the books is still there, as he was found of souvenirs he picked up the remaining book. Maybe if he keeps it under his pillow the secret knowledge it contains will move to his head? Who knows? Mighty for sure does not. At least it would make the pillow firmer, as it was too soft for his liking

He also picked up Half-Orc sized clothing of good sturdy construction and on the way out of tower Half-Orc sized Harbor Watch leather armor , as it was hard for him to decide now what will be more useful (he will worry about that later).

Cracker the parrot and Three-Headed monkey joined him (actually only the Lawful Good head remained awake, rest bored fell asleep).

Hoping that the remaining crew will join him he started slow walk to the boat.

================
+2 Mighty Cudgel of Crushing, a permanent +1 Strength, a parrot (Cracker), and a three-headed monkey
Crab claw - shield or strong pincer to grab and hold or crush, pouch with 1 silver coin and 4 pieces of eight, a set of 3 different sized lockpicks, and a strange odd amulet that looks like a VO
book, Half-Orc sized clothing of good sturdy construction, Half-Orc sized Harbor Watch leather armor

Lone_Scout: Argy tries to get the mug but, this time, Durik's hand is faster. So she takes one hairbrush and one book and is ready to go.
avatar
bjgamer: GM inquiry - Does she hitch a ride with Durik again?
"Me can carry tiny yes, but Durik needs swaying now. It ok?"
Also, noticing that Argy tried to get the mug too:
"Oh, ye want mug? Me can give, but it be big for u tho"

phaolo: "Oh, ye want mug? Me can give, but it be big for u tho"
"Nah, ye take it. First come first serve"
Bellandra agrees with Kyp and Gilius. "So be it then Polly. Cap'n Baldbeard, ye had the right of it indeed."

"Polly said the parts of these shamblers might move on their own, so best bind them up even when they're dead. Kyp, yer, net be perfect for that. Well then, this is goodbye, good doctor." She then swings her cutlass to decapitate the zombie.

When the zombie parts have been well bound, Bellandra intends to join the crew investigating the source of the zombies.

Sulibor: He noticked one of the books is still there, as he was found of souvenirs he picked up the remaining book.
Mighty picks up a book on the the history of some place called Monkey Island and things rumored to be found there. :)
Captain Baldbeard eyes the woody human who was able to stop his cudgel blow with a simple blade. Still, with the zombies dealt with, he now follows the scent down into the ship carefully.
He goes down one level, and smells a slight tinge of it there, but a much stronger stench of it is coming from lower down. He leads the crew to the galley and nearly gags. Were the noses of the others so weak they did not feel sick to their stomachs? Mushrooms everywhere! He could smell it from the stew pot, he could smell it all over the meat marinating on the table, he could smell it all over the cutting board and the knives next to it, and the dish towel, and some even peeking out from the sack in the corner
"Dinna touch nothing!" he yelled. "It's everywhere! Larissa, ye have knowledge of this fungus?" he asked, gesturing to the sack, "We're going ta have ta clean out the whole galley if we plan ta ever use it again. Ye think the holy water would work on it?", he asks Polly "Also, were these mushrooms logged in the ship's log? Or did som'n else bring 'em on board? I smell 'em in the stores too, I suspect there'll be a larger sack of them there, as well as somewhere upstairs".
As it became clear that the doctor had turned into something that was beyond not only redemption but also comprehension, Bhrigu renounced all hopes of extracting any useful information from the zombified corpse. Furthermore, the fact that Captain Baldbeard's cudgel had already caused the creature to lose half of its reanimated brain, meant the other half was of limited value only. So, he agreed to Admiral Polly's direction that they should dispose of the howling hound, whose horrible howling was held in check only by sincere efforts by the crew, by sending it to the Davy Jones's Locker. Bhrigu knew that his sabre was extremely potent in striking down undead creatures, and hence he decided on offering his services to dissect the rotten scoundrel and disable them for good this time. However, his curiosity was also kindled by the admiral's direction that Ol' Nick's rum is not be drunk by the crew under the warning of being exposed to a horrible fate like the doctor. So when he saw Cap'n Baldbeard and Larissa were to investigate the hold to search for the clues to unearth the dark menace it piqued his interest. "Fer now me would lend me hand to Kyp and Bellandra in disposing the zombies, but after that me would surely wait eagerly to acquaint meself to what Baldbeard and Larissa finds out in the hold" he said.
Mission 1, Turn 6 (Mini Update, all Crew)
Current Turn will end for All Parties 7 PM UTC, 28 September

Grog'tial reached the longboat and began to untie it from the boulder. Aylar was right behind him and helped to push the boat back down to the lapping waves. Behind them they could hear Durik and Argy quietly talking, and it sounded like Mighty was a little ways behind, being slightly slower as he carefully carried (roll dice) the still unconscious albatross. They didn't yet know if Queen Origi was with him or not. She could be stealthy, or it may be that Mighty was giving her a lift just as Durik was Argy. Either way, they were ready to embark the longboat for the Ship as soon as the others arrived.

-----
Aboard the Ship - Pugwash stayed on watch in the Crow's Nest, above the ghastliness of the zombie clean-up. Wait, was that movement by where the longboat had been beached?

Below Pugwash, on the main deck, Bhrigu and Kyp were busy dissecting the zombies into manageable pieces under Bellandra's watchful eye. She made sure that not one piece would evade them. (roll dice) Kyp had reclaimed his net belt and instead used the good pieces of the cut and fraying rope to fashion another rope netting to hold them well. Polly had said they would be dumping them in deeper water, probably so the pieces wouldn't somehow get ashore to plague the port and possibly infect it since they hadn't yet determined what had caused the Ship's Doctor and Cook to turn.

Count Karnstein and Gilius went below to check the hold. Gilius had previous experience with Ol' Nick's rum and knew where it should be securely stored. He may have breathed a bit easier when he found the barrels intact, and none looked like they were leaking. He might also have wondered if he should tell the Crew the story of Old Nick sometime. The Drow thief had stolen a bottle of Cap'n B's rum and had the life force leeched out of himself for it. This time Polly had told him she intended to use it as a weapon. They both just hoped the Ship could control the beast they intended to use it on once it had taken the bait.

Captain Baldbeard had followed his nose to the galley, where he quickly warned them all not to touch anything! "Larissa, ye have knowledge of this fungus?" he asked, gesturing to the sack of mushrooms sitting out near the cutting board. "Also, were these mushrooms logged in the ship's log? Or did som'n else bring 'em on board? I smell 'em in the stores too, I suspect there'll be a larger sack of them there."

Having verified the barrels of Ol' Nick's were not leaking, Count Karnstein was about to check the rest of the hold when he heard Captain Baldbeard's warning about fungus and the stores, as well as whether or not they were logged properly or possibly sneaked aboard. Perhaps his concern about Pugwash's cow and chickens was not unfounded. Who knew what they might have been fed?

Mission 1, Interim Turn/Prep for Denuvo (All Crew)
Moving this along. This will be a short interim turn to role play, tie up some discoveries and prepare for the boarding of the Denuvo.
*Interim Turn will end for All Parties 7 PM UTC, 29 September*

Polly looked around the galley as she listened to Captain Baldbeard's words. Another mystery, another clue. Someone was throwing another challenge in their path. Whether for enjoyment, or as a test, it didn't matter. It wouldn't stop THIS Crew. Not this time.

Brighter green phantasmal energies raised and pushed the Crew out of the galley, before erecting the same type of energy wall that had encircled the Cursed Weapons until it was time to choose. Polly turned to the others. "Many thanks ta ye, Captain Baldbeard, but it be seeming the investigation be having ta wait. Larissa, ye'll be able ta study the mushrooms later. The longboat be returning from the Tower. It be time to be back on deck and be heading for the Denuvo. The Ship be keeping the Galley and Pantry sealed fer now."

As the longboat was being secured back in position aboard the Ship, the Tower team could see things had not exactly been calm in their absense. What looked like twitching corpses of the Ship's Cook and Ship's Doctor were being chopped up and bound securely in a net, and Polly and others were returning from below decks, looking grim.

(roll dice) Seeing the condition of the albatross, Polly looked him over with slightly glowing eyes and assured Origi that while it was probably a concussion and he should not fly for a while, with sufficient rest her prince should recover. Since they didn't know the status of the infirmary, the Ship had also sealed it, so the albatross was brought to Queen Origi's cabin in the forecastle to rest comfortably instead.

Then Polly turned to the rest of the Tower team. "Ye be bringing something from the Denuvo aboard, I be feeling it. Show us." Looking over the VO amulet, Polly bobbed her head. "Count Karnstein, I be thinking ye be having the most experience among us with these vampirates. Be I right that this be a thing given to a servant of the vampirates, to counter what be draining those who come near the Denuvo? If it be so, could ye be using it to take aboard one of the Crew posing as ye servant? Be there anything else the Crew should be knowing as the Ship takes us in?"

With that Polly raised her wings slightly and the Ship began to make its way to the harbor entrance in full stealth mode while the Crew made their final plans and prepared.

Harbor Plans
Denuvo Deck Plans

-----
GM Notes -
As Origi previously instructed Mighty to take the albatross to the longboat I will take that as intent to return with the Tower team. This is the end of the tutorial however, so it is time to start making sure you post your intent and for fellow Crew to help get Crew mates back to the Ship if they wish to do so.

This is the time to post any reports or reactions to the Tower and Zombie incidents. This is also the time to post who wishes to take what positions for the coming turn of boarding the Denuvo. Unless otherwise told, I will be assuming Pugwash is remaining in the Crow's Nest for sharpshooting. Methods of boarding include: swinging over from the yard arms (for the agile types); extending a boarding plank; swimming over and climbing up the anchor chain onto the Gun Deck (risky as there may be somebody asleep or awake).

The cannons on the Main Deck should be easily reachable once any watch there is eliminated. Count Karnstein had previously proposed taking care of the Gun Deck cannons with himself posing as a ranking officer with influence. The Patches cannot disguise Cap'n Rummyfangs as a vampirate, for they would sense he is living, but he could likely pass as a 'harmless' dock hand, delivery person (darn, no pizza joints here), Harbor Watch patrol or servant.

After making his report to Polly that the ship is safe to proceed, with succinct details on the opposition encountered and the measures taken to prevent the harbor chain from being raised, Grog'tial takes a moment to look around at the disorganized chaos on deck, and shakes his head wryly. He then proceeds to wash the bloody leather armor he brought with the soap which was so thoughtfully provided before. He also pointedly wrinkles his nose at the various tower team members which managed to get blood all over themselves.

"I don't know if it'll do any good, but if anyone wants to pretend to be a member of the Harbor Watch, I'm happy to share this human-sized leather armor and these two human-sized Harbor Watch tabards. They're of little use to me, since I'm not exactly human-sized." If there are no takers, Grog'tial stores all of the above in the chest in his cabin, for possible later use. He then grabs a few more stakes from the supply and makes himself more stake-bolts, until he has a full dozen of the latter, and two of the former.

"Admir'l", he says, "am I right to assume from the deck plans you provided that the main deck of the Denuvo is only two decks higher than our main deck, so that the Fighting Top should stick out about 3-5 meters above the main deck of the Denuvo?" If Polly confirms this to be correct, Grog'tial will take up position there, making it possible to swiftly get down to the deck and over to the Denuvo in case backup is needed, while staying out of sight of anyone not looking up, and still being able to aim for hearts at a pretty decent angle.

"Oh, and Admir'l? That Vampirate we encountered be moving quite swiftly. It be more luck than wisdom which allowed us to take her out so effectively. Do ye have any more knowledge on their abilities that ye can share with us?"

"Just get your gracious queen on board, one doesn't care how. Yes of course one is stealthy enough to get down to the cabin with the chests and detect for any... anomalies. We shall need one or two of you fellows to pick or break locks, one imagines, and carry anything heavy we find. One should even be able to make oneself invisible, should the need arise. Anyway, chop chop! Let's get going, I'm only interested in getting this done and back to my dear sleeping princey-wincey as soon as possible."
Mighty The Mighty Matey

Mighty after handling the VO amulet started browsing the book he brought from the tower. The strange glyphs on the pages made little sense to him till the Three-Hedged Monkey noticed he is holding the book upside-down. After rotating it, glyphs turned up to be letters and the content started to be more clear to him. He was so deeply engaged, that the paid little attention to what anyone was saying. Cracker poked his head with beak, and whispered something into his ear.

“Cracker has an idea” he said “Parrot told me that we can split into three groups. One in the Guard Armour could go to the port in a boat before attack. Second group of nimble pirates with amuley could go to Denuvo first with the ropes and infil… infiltr... scout, sneakily crack some skulls and hide on ship. Than, after some time (2 turns), third group could board in a proper way with a plank and attack. Scouts could join and hit defending crew from behind. Than (after 1 turn) group in dis.. disguis… the group in the Guard Armor would get in from side of the port. The Denuvo crew would think it is help from guard, but it would be us cracking their skulls from third side. They would not know what hit them.

Mighty smiled and become silent, probably elaborating the prospect of cracking skulls.

"Just idea" said Cracker innocently .
