Free when you own the base game and its two expansion packs!

You've asked and we listened: starting today, courtesy of CD Projekt RED, everyone who owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and both its expansions on GOG.com will automatically get The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition added to their library. So, no need to keep casting Axii on us - the upgrade is here! And don't worry, the GOTY Edition will not replace the others but will be added as a separate product (this process might take up to a couple of days - please be patient) .

Why are we doing this? Because we can (and because we are always thinking of ways to make your life a bit easier)! For those of you who use GOG Galaxy, your experience will be as simple as it was - you can install The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with expansions and owned DLC with a single click and update it automatically. And if you don’t use GOG Galaxy yet, you will now have a choice between downloading the game and its expansions separately or as a single comprehensive package directly from the website.

If you've played the base game and are looking for a chance to expand on your The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt experience, then we have some awesome news for you as well! For the next 72 hours, you can head here to take advantage of our special offer: -35% on the expansion packs you're missing to complete your GOTY package. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine offer new epic adventures with additional locations to visit, characters to meet, and hard choices to tackle. And of course, the moment you purchase your missing expansion(s), the GOTY Edition will materialize in your library along with them!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt along with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine have already amassed more than 800 awards and have gained their rightful place among the most celebrated games of all time. Now it's time to give them a place in your library, in the form of the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition!

Note: Currently, there is no time limit to the free upgrade and it's available to all users. You will be notified by email when the GOTY Edition gets added to your account, but for those already eligible this process may take up to a couple of days so please be patient.

wizisi2k: chiming in with my .02: got key as a freebie with GTX 970. Please let us know how you make out. Oddly, I added the DLC to my game but it shows the base as unowned.
Just give it some time. If you do not get the GOTY by then open a ticket with support. Like I mentioned before I was now able to add the 2 DLC's at 35% discount. If I do not get my GOTY in 2 or 3 weeks I will open a ticket with support.
Bought the missing DLCs right now with the discount. GOTY edition was added immediately.

Great GOG! You rule.
Umm... I have one question, why i got Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine for free? On the page it was -35%, but in check out it was for free all of sudden.
Hopefully this will be the first step toward consolidating editions throughout the catalog. Don't know how many times I've almost bought a deluxe edition when I already owned the game + deluxe upgrade or visa versa.
Thank you. :)
Sweet GOGity goodness!
Thanks GOG and CDPR for the addition of the GOTY edition. I know the overall product is the same, but it's things like this that show attention to customer service.
Thank you very much, GOG and CDPR for the upgrade! And CDPR, please don't let that hostile takeover work! Please remain independent so you can keep making awesome games that I will keep buying ! :)
Nice, but I agree with those who say the pricing of the expansions isn't right. I've been waiting forever to upgrade at (what I deem to be) a decent price, but that still doesn't do it. The price of the GOTY is attractive when discounted, that's nice, but that's for new players. For day-one players, the expansion pass has never been discounted lower than 10% (that I've seen) and the current offer of -35% is on the separate expansions. I'll wait & see what you'll offer for Christmas, it's been over 6 months since the release of the last expansion after all, the price has to go down eventually. Hopefully -50% on the expansion pass at some point and I'll be sold.
Nice move GOG. Now I wish you would offer Shadows of Amn separate from Throne of Bhaal.
Please GOG / CDPR, stay with us till the eternity. You guys are the greatest thing to happen to the gaming world in a long time. Thank you so much for your services.

ZAKITASHI: Doesn't this mean the studio will make less money? Never thought id be sad about a studio making less money....
Why would they make less money because of that?
Everything which is part of the GotY edition is also included if you bought the game and the Add-Ons separately, it's just more comfortable because you have fewer installers.
GOG/CDPR is the gift that keeps on giving. I hope those rumors about some hostile takeover are far from true and I also hope players will pay for your games as close to the release as they can, so you can maximize your profits, because you deserve that.

GOG.com: And if you don’t use GOG Galaxy yet...
Nice try. ;)
