Free when you own the base game and its two expansion packs!

You've asked and we listened: starting today, courtesy of CD Projekt RED, everyone who owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and both its expansions on GOG.com will automatically get The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition added to their library. So, no need to keep casting Axii on us - the upgrade is here! And don't worry, the GOTY Edition will not replace the others but will be added as a separate product (this process might take up to a couple of days - please be patient) .

Why are we doing this? Because we can (and because we are always thinking of ways to make your life a bit easier)! For those of you who use GOG Galaxy, your experience will be as simple as it was - you can install The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with expansions and owned DLC with a single click and update it automatically. And if you don’t use GOG Galaxy yet, you will now have a choice between downloading the game and its expansions separately or as a single comprehensive package directly from the website.

If you've played the base game and are looking for a chance to expand on your The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt experience, then we have some awesome news for you as well! For the next 72 hours, you can head here to take advantage of our special offer: -35% on the expansion packs you're missing to complete your GOTY package. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine offer new epic adventures with additional locations to visit, characters to meet, and hard choices to tackle. And of course, the moment you purchase your missing expansion(s), the GOTY Edition will materialize in your library along with them!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt along with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine have already amassed more than 800 awards and have gained their rightful place among the most celebrated games of all time. Now it's time to give them a place in your library, in the form of the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition!

Note: Currently, there is no time limit to the free upgrade and it's available to all users. You will be notified by email when the GOTY Edition gets added to your account, but for those already eligible this process may take up to a couple of days so please be patient.

acute71: Update: I opened a ticket with supoort, because I do own the game, but it was redeemed via a key - so it shows as not owned on the site.

I did not receive an update from support yet, but if I now click the link in the mail I only see the 2 expansion packs with the 35% discount. Hopwefully this is fixed for everyone with this issue.

Please check.
Confirmed.

heh, must be some kind of joke, it was cheaper to buy the damn GOTY in the last sale than buying the DLCs now.

"Super Special Offer" huh guys... last time i frigging buy a game before a "definitive" edition comes out.

And about the upgrade, not sure wth you are so proud about it, it is the damn least you could have done.
Darksiders 2 gave me the deathnitive edition (had all DLCs) and those who didn't had the dlcs, could buy it with 70% or 80% off if they had the base game.
And Skyrim also gave the legendary edition if you had all DLCs, no begging needed.

HEY SMARTHEADS AT GOG!

you forgot to add the goty upgrade for free to every user who got witcher 3 through the nvidia voucher and owns the expansion pack!
YAY! They've fixed it for registered disc owners, too!

Thank you GOG!! Greatly appreciated!!!

This article was written 3 hours ago and they wrote that it can take a couple of days before everyone gets the goty edition.
I'm sure most people know it by now, but CDPR/GOG is likely teh best cumpany for evieeeaaaaagh (Shadow of the Comet reference).
Can someone tell me the actual HD space taken up by Witcher 3 GOTY? I really doubt with all the expansions it's still just 35GB.

Love you CD Projekt RED and GOG <3

Thankyou very much :)
Let's hope it works soon for Nvidia promotion redeemers. Cheers brothers, and rejoice!

YenRug: Now, if GOG would just recognise those of us who bought the disc based version at launch, so we can get the discount, too...
I got the key on an alternate official site and I wonder if the expansion will ever get over there.

Not gonna rebuy the base game nor am I interested in regionally priced witcher 3 expansions.
So, the saves from base+dlc can be used in goty?
All right, CDPR: You are redeemed in my eyes. Thank you. :)
Thank you very much!
Thank you GOG for listening to your fans!
Unfortunately the DLCs at 35% off is still cashing in on early supporters. GOTY is relatively cheaper and was already 40% off. When you publish an affordable GOTY edition (which is great), then adjust prices for DLCs as well to stay fair to your fanbase.
