Free when you own the base game and its two expansion packs!

You've asked and we listened: starting today, courtesy of CD Projekt RED, everyone who owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and both its expansions on GOG.com will automatically get The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition added to their library. So, no need to keep casting Axii on us - the upgrade is here! And don't worry, the GOTY Edition will not replace the others but will be added as a separate product (this process might take up to a couple of days - please be patient) .

Why are we doing this? Because we can (and because we are always thinking of ways to make your life a bit easier)! For those of you who use GOG Galaxy, your experience will be as simple as it was - you can install The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt with expansions and owned DLC with a single click and update it automatically. And if you don’t use GOG Galaxy yet, you will now have a choice between downloading the game and its expansions separately or as a single comprehensive package directly from the website.

If you've played the base game and are looking for a chance to expand on your The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt experience, then we have some awesome news for you as well! For the next 72 hours, you can head here to take advantage of our special offer: -35% on the expansion packs you're missing to complete your GOTY package. Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine offer new epic adventures with additional locations to visit, characters to meet, and hard choices to tackle. And of course, the moment you purchase your missing expansion(s), the GOTY Edition will materialize in your library along with them!

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt along with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine have already amassed more than 800 awards and have gained their rightful place among the most celebrated games of all time. Now it's time to give them a place in your library, in the form of the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition!

Note: Currently, there is no time limit to the free upgrade and it's available to all users. You will be notified by email when the GOTY Edition gets added to your account, but for those already eligible this process may take up to a couple of days so please be patient.

I have the exact same problem as others here, I own Witcher 3 base game that I was given as an offer with my old GPU and it is listed in my account and playable however when I go to the offer or store page it's still listed as unowned despite completing it.

So can I just buy the two DLC packs and have the GotY added or is it going to make me buy the base game again this is the entire reason why I never bought them or the Season Pass in the first place since it keeps telling me I do not own it.

If I look at the upgrade page I only get 17% discount not the promised 35% and if I deselect W3 I get 0% rendering the offer useless I want to pay more money then I should have to. I don't even know if it's worth ticketing support as the will properly be over by the time this get resolved.

Thank you for the quick response! I didn't expect to hear a response so soon! 72 hours... Hmm..., now opening up my wallet and checking how much is left...

LordCrash: Ahem, what's the point? The GOTY adds nothing to the experience, it's just the original release and both expansions in one bundle.
Many folks wanted the neatly bundled GOTY upgrade, but complaints would've come pouring in if all trace of the original was removed without consent. Sure the content is exactly the same, but if you place two identical sandwiches in front of someone, chances are they'll pick the one on the right and insist its slightly bigger.

You should contact them; you have nothing to lose.
I have the expansions+main game but my version of the base witcher 3 is from the nivida promo(which is separate on gog).. I wonder if I'm getting the goty version?

If everyone with this issue opens a ticket something like this this might not happen again. So come on guys (and gals), spam them!

Edit: I mean the fact that there are appearantly separate "versions" of the Witcehr 3 on GOG.

I am one of those that own the BOX version and redeemed on imvu. So I dont see a discount.

Well, if it is not possible for whatever technical reasons, I will just buy again the GOTY edition when it is on sale. Full support for GOG and Red team.
Cheers for listening to your customers. :) I think Pillars of Eternity needs this option too, though.

Awesome work.
Now I can enjoy the unified installer from the GOTY Version without having to handle multiple installer for base game, expansions etc.

Same problem
What's the big deal? Is it THAT hard installing three games/expansions these days?!

darthspudius: What's the big deal? Is it THAT hard installing three games/expansions these days?!
The big deal is having everything in one place, like almost all other games that had expansions on GOG. Baldur's Gate series, NWN series, Dragon Age Origins, etc...

One installer to rule them all, One installer to bind them,
One installer to bring them all and in the darkness run them

I don't think people see it as that big a problem but between downloading and installing 3 items most people would take the obvious option to only use 1 combined installer to accomplish the same thing especially when those options result in the same outcome.

it seems so ^^.
Considering the amount of GOTY rant threads we had in the forums it seems like at least 95% of the Witcher 3 owners install their game at least 37 times a year and for them it's totally unacceptable to click 3 installers instead of 1 :D.
(Disclaimer i own the Game + DLCS as well and couldn't care less about the GOTY upgrade as Game and DLCS was the same contentwise)
