Terrible news. Ultima Underworld is one of the best RPG series ever made.
Assuming that EA is to blame for this, then it's just one more reason to tell that publisher to go fu@# themselves (as if they didn't already have enough reasons).

The Syndicate games are really good. Already bought all of these, years ago, but it's still sad to see them go.

Oh for F**K sake why the hell would EA want them delisted unless its the start of making them origin exclusive.

I'd say it's quite likely. Although I don't think the average Origin customer is the ideal buyer of such games.

It's also possible that EA have plans to launch a new game in the Syndicate or Underworld franchises and want to regain absolute control over the ip and selling rights.

EDIT: I admit I'm a bit shocked at the apparent lack of reaction from the GOG customer base (usually so fast to jump at certain controversial issues) :(
I hope it's because many are not used to pay attention to the "stickies".

I fear this is not the classic end of licensing and later renegotiation to make the games back to the catalog. Probably they have plans for the games, or remasters or something like this. And the want the originals wiped off from the face of earth.

So why are other EA games that have non-GOG sequels here? Dead Space, Dragon Age, etc...

Anyway, sad news.

Just bought ultima underworld and syndicate plus. Syndicate wars i don't have money currently for it but don't know if that one is a good game and reached 400 games on gog. Though a few are just goodies counting as games. Weird that they are removing them from the store

'Developer's request' rather has to be publisher's request, doesn't it? Neither Bullfrog nor Blue Sky (a.k.a. Looking Glass) still exists as a legal entity.

Well might have found a clue. Just went to when i purchased Ultima underworld when it was first released here and the date was June 2011 so might be gog could only sell those games for 10 years. That also puts the ? of there where more EA games released about that time Wing commander, Dungeon Keeper, magic carpet to name a few. Does this mean they too might start to disapear?

Yeah, it's EA. No doubt about it.

And if more EA games disappear from the store over the next few months, it'd probably mean that we won't be getting anything else from them.
