WinterSnowfall: No, it does not.
Unless all of those reports are wrong, it is used and loaded on Windows if it is found and it causes issues with the Steam overlay. How could that be?

I don't have a Windows system to test on, but I have outright deleted the d3d11on12.dll and played the dx12 version in Linux with Wine & vkd3d-proton just fine, so... it's certainly not used by the dx12 renderer.

what wine settings do you need? Trying to get it running on my Steam Deck, and I have to use the DX11 version in the x64 folder to even get into the game (opening cutscene and menus work fine regardless of which version i run). If I use the DX12 version i get an instant crash. Not that it matters, I'm happily in game with good FPS on DX11.

You'll need the native version of d3dcompiler47, with a proper Wine dll override for hairworks to work, but that's about it. The dx11 version shouldn't crash at all, but it will be a slideshow if hairworks is on without the above.

Not an issue. Game won't run great at any high settings on this thing. It's powerful, but not that powerful. Thanks for the info though.

pds41: It's actually my first playthrough - I've been waiting for the update (I finished my replay of W2 in early 2021 and was waiting for it to finally be released)
It will be my first playthrough with the DLC, so let's hope we both have fun. Rest assured even without RT you're getting a better experience than was ever available before. The TAA and shadows alone are big improvements. I loaded up the old version a couple days ago and it's crazy how much more "jaggy" it looks, even at 4k.
I'm having issue with MSI afterburner or Fraps not working with Witcher 3 now. Anyone know solutions to this issue?
There is a bug that you cannot collect rewards if you:
Start the game, collect samurai set and empty the chest, log into gog account, try to collect rewards from empty chest (no possible to open them anymore in Vizima even if menu says you got rewards and can collect them..). Please fix.
