It depends what you mean by 'covered'. There is a thread about it, though nobody has a solution.

Acting in GOG's defense, there's nothing they can do about the Far Cry 2 tape bugs, these exist dating back to 3 years ago or even more, there are countless threads about this on google and Steam for the matter. What makes you think that if GOG contacts Ubi they will magically fix the game?

Ubi has moved on to more newer projects. Unless some 3rd party fix happens you're stick with the bugs.

Like tons of other games of the same series now Battle Chess can boast a GOG exclusive feature that all other stores envy them: random folder names.

I would open a ticket to the support, but it won't get fixed anyway.

Right now the only thing GOG have more than it's users is the right to sells games. Every other things users do better.

This, since Ubi has literally become french EA, they will often ignore any requests to fix things, and since it sounds like there could be a hostile relationship between GOG and Ubi.

Shifting the responsibility onto the users is unprofessional and pretty shitty support.

I am sure GOG reports issues to devs.

But FarCry 2?
The game is 7 (seven) years old. Probably got it's last patch like 6 years ago. It is what it is.

My question was more general. I don't expect magical solutions, but I expect them to at least make an effort to get the devs to fix whatever is reported as broken or buggy; support's responses suggest that they don't.

Makes me wonder if GOG ever tried to get Telltale Games to fix the known bug of Sybil being invisible in Episode 1 of Sam & Max Save the Worldhas.

Crimson seems to imply that there is an older version (previously available on GOG?) that does not suffer from the bug. I know of at least one game where GOG offers access to an older version in order to bypass an unfixable bug in the current newer version: "King's Bounty The Legend" (Upper Hadar bug). It is not unthinkable to expect GOG to offer access to an old version as well as a new version.

Same issue with Far Cry 1: Version 1.40 made tents and garbage 'barracks' transparent for the enemy (like thick foliage, iirc), so you have to use the HUD to locate enemies in them from a far distance (which is especially annoying in the first level and the level Pier, if I remember correct).

The issue I had wasn't with Far Cry 2, it was with RIse of the Triad (2013). That game is new enough to still get patches from the developer, isn't it?

When I contacted GOG support about a problem they first told me to contact the developer. When the developer didn't answer to me I got back to GOG support and asked them to contact the developer from their side since they don't seem to answer to users.

The reply I got was that GOG doesn't speak for the developer. I replied that I didn't ask GOG support to speak for the developer but to contact them and suggested that if the support representative doesn't have contact information for the developer that he should escalate the ticket higher up in the support chain.

I have not received any further reply from GOG support.

Seriously, some people who work on GOG support should be fired. GOG support used to be really good but it has been constantly going downhill for a while.

I believe that the people that works on GOG support say what they are told/allowed to. The issue is always in the higher rank. We wouldn't have this GOG crisis these days/months/years if it wasn't for the GOG higher ups that clearly have shown they don't care for their users experience, just their money.

I assume this is sarcasm, right? I mean we are talking about a platform that sells old games (till 2012 only "good old games"). The bugs of older games are well-known. If Gog.com is not able to fix it, they could give people a choice to buy/not to buy the game, which contains a list of bugs open accessible.

From the Steam Forums and my nightmares: "The Jackal tapes bug was introduced with the 1.03 patch. Setting Steam to not automatically update will just pause the download making it impossible to not get the patched version."

I only know this version and the bug really sucks because you are forced to use sniper tactics in most situations. :/
