- Added proper LINUX and MAC ports with WORKING ACHIEVEMENTS!
- If you want to revert to the older Resonance, opt into beta channel "original", password is "resoresoreso", your older saves won't work with this version.

Here's a small guide.
1) Right click on Resonance, go to PROPERTIES.
2) Properties
3) Betas
4) typing in that text input box "resoresoreso" WITHOUT QUOTES, hitting check code
5) Hitting the blue button that will appear
6) The game will begin downloading files and once that's done, your saves will still be there and ready to be loaded.

- Added Steam Cloud support [cross-platform even]
- Here are saves in case someone needs em!

Encased: A Sci Fi Post Apocalyptic RPG
ENCASED - PATCH 3: CARS, A PLANE IN DESERT AND GAMEPAD SUPPORT

The full version of Encased was released in September and we’ve since introduced several hotfixes - and a couple of major patches - where we thoroughly worked on the UI, optimisation, level design and other aspects of the game. But all of this (with the exception of the special Halloween patch) was related to the content that was already in the game. That's great, but how about something new? Such as what we promised during our kickstarter campaign.

With this in mind, we started developing Patch 3. Today we are happy to present it to you and let you know what awaits you in the first (but not last!) large-scale Encased update.

A new adventure and cars

Before the Spire Station was built, cargo was delivered under the Dome by aircraft. One such aircraft - a decommissioned military transport callsigned Eldorado - made a hard landing in a mountainous area and was abandoned. A few years later, the plane which was devoid of life, began to broadcast strange signals... You’ll need to find out what is happening at the crash site and what fate befell the scientific group that went to investigate the plane shortly after it crashed. Oh and, by the way, on board the plane you can find a unique piece of clothing for your character as well as tons of loot.

We have redesigned the game's transport system; players can now steal almost any car (except those that will never run again). Having a car brings on many changes: not only can you navigate the map faster, but you also unlock new encounters, many of which can lead to highly unpredictable outcomes.

And conversely, we’ve added a little more predictability to random events in which you can encounter travelers named after kickstarter backers; as of now, if you convince someone to join one of the factions, upon arriving at the settlement, you will most certainly meet them, and some of such characters will become merchants.

Bug fixes, gamepad and Linux version

We have long promised to add gamepad support to the game and spent a lot of time and effort on its implementation. Additional options have been added along with the gamepad and now you can adjust the font size - or enable high contrast mode – which will make the game more accessible to play on a large monitor or TV. Or, for that matter, on a small Steam Deck display.

We also released a Linux version of the game and fixed a lot of bugs, errors and polished some minor rough edges – the fixes were so numerous that we decided not to make a list at all this time. Believe us, you will still see enough of them, because we do not plan to abandon Encased, and in the near future a lot of new and interesting things await you.

Update 1 - First Fixes, Mission Markers, and More
Fixing many of the main problems since launch
Hi everyone!

So sorry this has taken so long. We’ve been head-down fixing many of the issues that have been shared with us since launch.

Today, we’re releasing the first major update to The Waylanders. This update brings some much needed fixes to some critical issues that the game including:

A bug that stopped Ynes´ Mission from finishing correctly
A critical Direct3D bug affecting configuring the game in fullscreen
Mission markers should now show correctly throughout The Waylanders
We’ve fixed level milestones
Animations in many cinematics have been improved

Again, we appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay on these fixes. We’re now working on our next update. We’re still triaging known issues and hope to have a roadmap available soon.

Changelog:
Hotfix 1.2.2 is available now!

The list of changes may contain spoilers but we try to avoid them as much as possible. The issues listed below did not affect all players.

Here is a list of changes:
Fixed an issue where acquiring bonus fighting skills would affect the base skill
Fixed an issue introduced in patch 1.2 where player could not give collected wood to Knut
Fixed other minor issues

Please remember that updates do not force you to start a new playthrough! You can load your savegames and continue.
If there is an update that requires you to start a new game, you will still be able to continue playthrough on the previous version anyway.

Gemini Rue has achievements now. Around this time, other Wadjet Eye Games have received achievements, Mac and Linux builds, engine updates, and miscellaneous minor fixes. This may also be the case here. Anyone who cares that much can ask the developer who was working on it yesterday. Edit: At least I can say Mac and Linux builds are there, but I didn't pay attention if they were available before.

I'm seeing version 2.2 for all offline installers. Also, I don't see any achievements yet, but if those are new to the Steam version (at least for Mac and Linux), it'll be a while longer before they make it over here. Presumably, they will be added, since the same thing happened with other Wadjet Eye Games like Unavowed, Technobabylon, and Gemini Rue.
Edit no. 2: Windows and Mac offline installers are now at version 2.3 and I can see the achievements list!

I got a notification in my library that it's been updated. Does anyone know what's new? Both the GOG change log and the Steam news section only go up to July 15 2021 / July 14, respectively. Is there somewhere else I should be looking?
I just asked the dev what changed

"nothing major just minor bugs/glitches"

So it does not seem as if they are about to post a changelog.

That's to their detriment. Even if the changelog / Steam news post simply said, "Minor fixes" it would let people know the game is still being maintained.

Just to make it clear: I was just guessing that they won't post a changelog. It's still possible that they do. I do know for a fact that they'll at least still reply almost immediately when being asked about their game. Great devs, great game - they deserve support :)

I bought the game largely for the soundtrack and I haven't played it yet. If Theta Division release anything else on GOG, I'll try to remember you put in a good word for them ^_^

An independent Class-3 artificial intelligence self-identifying as “Marvin” (formerly operating under the Class-2 designation of “Entangled Thought”) has proposed an experiment with the potential to falsify the Many-Worlds interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. Though human scientists have expressed some skepticism over the relevance of the experimental data, Marvin has replied to such claims without surprise, stating that “Bio-processing is at an inherent disadvantage in attempting to challenge quantum mechanics. The entangled mind is a prerequisite for intuitive understanding.”

The initial results, though inconclusive, have yet to invalidate the Many-Worlds interpretation. If borne out, these results would be far from a failure; it would represent an important finding, though it will take time to explore the implications of such a finding.

A class-action lawsuit against Nakamura Dynamics
Multiple independent geologists and astrogators filed a class-action suit against Nakamura Dynamics after several contractor fatalities stemming from overwork and exhaustion came to light. Though a Nakamura representative offered no comments, new regulations surrounding the number of hours these positions can stay on shift are already being reviewed, according to sources inside the corporation.

Ring-rage incidents on the rise
A statistically significant increase in ring-rage incidents among independent miners is raising tensions across Enceladus. A representative of the Vilcy, the independent mercenary group known for establishing a bounty and enforcement structure in the rings, has promised swift and decisive action.

Maintenance records
- The new game button, after you finish the tutorial, allows you to re-roll your starting ship name and pick one of the parallel universes, which changes the seed for procedural generation, giving you a unique experience. You will now start the game at Enceladus, allowing you to customize your crew and your ship before the very first dive.
- Multithreaded performance improvements speed up the frame rate on systems with multiple, but slower cores, especially when other ships are around.
- Additional general AI performance improvements across all systems will make the game run faster when other ships are around you, including faster pathfinding and decision-making routines.
- Re-balanced the faction and personal hostility and fear adjustments from being shot at by the player to consider the actual amount of damage taken. This makes NPCs less likely to turn hostile from glazing accidental shots and quicker to act when under concentrated fire.
- Fixed a race condition that caused random crashes on some systems.
- The undocking procedure from the Big Bad Wolf is now gentler.
- Rebalanced experience gains for your crew. Geologists and Astrogators will now level up a bit slower, and Pilots and Mechanics will level up faster.
- Additional protection from cargo piercing your ship hull.
- “Guide us through the thicket” questlet now has the ship asking you for a favour to assert its course, showing you exactly where they want to go.
- You can now re-deploy claim beacons that you pick up in the rings during your dive.

- Drone-mounted microwave dishes are now a bit smaller and will not poke through the hull of your ship if you have one in your cargo hold.
- Adjusted number of dialogue trees that could look weird if you undocked during the course of discussion.
