mrkgnao: Me too.

I couldn't say about Rebel Galaxy, as I don't own the game.
And i can't remember if i got a notification earlier but i wouldn't bet on it...
As some may already know I did the German translation for the Redux version of Ether One myself and I really tried to get it as professional and bug free as possible. I would really appreciate it if the German GOGers would tell me if they like it or not. It was really no easy task as everybody who played the game could imagine but I did my very best to assure that it feels like a professional translation and not like a quick and dirty translation translated word for word. I had the opportunity to test some beta builds of the redux version but I never got my hands on the actual release version until now. So I never was able to check how Whitepapergames solved the translation problem with the telegrams, cinema and the blackboards. They told me that they did what I was proposing to them (holding mouse button should bring up the translation) but I never saw it myself. I gave them the translations for these parts via e-mail but if there are translation bugs here it would simply be because I was never able to test this part (there was a problem entering ":" on a German keyboard and I never got a build in which this was resolved so I could not enter this area in my testing phase. However Pete has assured me that they will fix remaining bugs asap if there should be any. I really love the game and those devs (and of course GOG for putting this up so quick) and I trust them completely. The devs are also loving GOG - just take a look at the credits whenever you have finished the game :) Have fun!
So...what's different in the Ether One Redux version? o_O

No promised Mac version! Oh wait, that's the same. ;)

Sadly, I do not trust them and, at this point, would not ever. Their word is worth nothing to me.

The game was completely rebuild in UE4 engine. They added additional graphic effects and sound effects. They also added additional translations and the graphics are imo much prettier. The game itself has not changed. There are still the same puzzles and the same solutions in it. I have made some comparision screenshots a time ago (from a beta release so they could be even better now) which I will post here in a moment.

I will talk to Pete again to ask him but let them have a little rest - they worked very hard on this for quite a while :)

They promised it "SOON" on release here (the first time, in 2014) then later said they would never make a Mac version.

They kept every promise they gave to me which were quite a few so don't give up hope yet, please :)
Edit: I just asked him again if there is more to say about it.

Here is the answer I received within minutes:

"So the main issue behind the Mac version is that in the original Ether One version, the frame rate was terrible on a Mac and we couldn't do anything to fix it. Rather than releasing it when it wasn't up to quality, we decided that since we were moving over to UE4, we could try again with the UE4 Ether One Redux. We still very much want to get out to all platforms on the PC which includes Mac and Linux since a lot of people are asking for it. We haven't currently been able to run a test build on Mac or Linux so we're unsure of how it runs - this is mostly due to getting the PS4 and then the PC re-release out. It sucks to prioritise those platforms over Mac & Linux but for a small team, it makes sense to prioritise the bigger market. That said, for those that can only play on Mac or Linux, we don't want to leave those fans out. We will be sure to keep the community updated with our progress on how we get on with the Mac build but we're unsure at the moment since we've not tested it. We're extremely sorry for losing your trust in the Mac version and we will do our best to get it onto the platforms we want to however if the game won't run to a good enough standard, we wouldn't want to take people's money for a game which is going to cause issues in the long term. "

Thanks for checking Marko! I wish they had the "wouldn't want to take people's money" mindset a year and a half ago. :)

mrkgnao: Deponia 3: Goodbye Deponia

[...]

[Almost needless to say: no flag]
What are you referring to by "flag"? If it's the numerical value that appears next to the ACCOUNT top menu, and/or the blue dot next to the game's name in my library, I've got both of them.

It showed up late. Also: Kingdom's update yesterday got a late flag. Windward's update yesterday didn't get one.

Yes. I got it too today, as mentioned here.

However, yesterday, when the change rolled out, the flag was nowhere to be seen.

At least they have not given up on the Mac version completely and when they find the time to test it maybe the UE4 port really fixed all those Mac issues and you will get it after all.
