Matruchus: tried to get Star Wars: Empire at War running under Wine but im hitting the wall with that strange resolution issue where the game is pushed to the right of the screen and the resolution is way too big for what its supposed to be.
First try to run the game in a WINE virtual desktop, so it won’t be able to mess up your screen resolution. Then you should be able to change the resolution in the in-game settings, maybe getting rid of your bug in the process.

Thanks. Mind adding the AppDB entry? Links no longer fit in the main posts.

Matruchus: From Winetricks I already had following installed: d3dx9_36, Quartz and vcrun 2010 - don't know if that was needed or not.
According to the report you should need no winetricks. Care to try it out?

Matruchus: Anybody tried to install Colonial Charter mod for Banished under Wine? Im thinking about trying it out and was wondering if its doable under Wine.
I installed it and started a new game. It seemed to be working OK. Didn't play all that long.

One more final edit!

Game: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D
Installer MD5s: setup_sw_rogue_squadron3d_2.0.0.3.exe = af86e6b6419db14279e665ba71613152
WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=3258
CodeWeavers link: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/star-wars-rogue-squadron-3d
Distro: Mac OS X El Capitain 10.11.4
Kernel version: Darwin 15.4.0 (Build 15E65)
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce 320m
Graphics driver & version: OS Default
Wine version(s) tested: wine-staging 1.9.9 via Wineskin
Install notes: Installed in winetricks: directsound, dinput8, directx9; installed nGlide 1.05
How well does it run: Almost perfectly (So far)
Details: Tested in fullscreen 1366 x 768, with Mac driver enabled. For full/widescreen under 3dfx Glide, use ROGUE.EXE to change the game's renderer from D3D to Glide.

The main menu's cursor may have smearing and drawing issues, but otherwise should work as expected. (You can also use Tab to navigate through the menu options.) Save/loading games works as expected also. The main bugs often associated with this game -- crashing between missions and running too fast on modern systems -- have not been observed as of yet.

Gameplay seems to work perfectly, with no rendering issues and no problems with this game's infamous "runs too fast" bug. It's also recommended to launch this game with Rogue Squadron.exe. Also, remember to change WINE's Windows version to Windows 98 in winecfg.

te_lanus: Reading the Release thread it seems it's not playable under wine :( . Seems to be a vsync problem: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_star_wars_shadows_of_the_empire_8ee57/post184
Here's my current progress on Shadows of the Empire...

Game: Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Installer MD5s:
b2b4084e8d9ef84913357e8e94735d38 setup_sw_shadows_of_the_empire_2.2.0.11.exe
WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=7682
CodeWeavers link: n/a
Distro: Mac OS X El Capitain 10.11.4
Kernel version: Darwin 15.4.0 (Build 15E65)
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce 320m
Graphics driver & version: OS Default
Wine version(s) tested: WINE 1.9.9 via Wineskin
Install notes: Installed directx9 in Winetricks.
How well does it run: Almost perfectly (So far)
Details: Tested in fullscreen 1280 x 720 (1366 x 768 causes resolution-based rendering issues with cutscenes). Native Mac Driver was enabled. Currently have played up to the completion of the initial Snowspeeder and 3rd-Person Dash Rendar levels. Save/Loading games and creation of new characters all works as expected. Cutscenes play, but are curiously not centered on screen.

Gameplay seems to work perfectly, with no rendering issues and no problems with this game's infamous "runs too fast" bug. It's recommended to launch this game with Shadows.exe (in the Sdata folder), instead of SOTE.EXE.

Will add it after I try if the game works on a clear Wine install. Will clean Wineprefix and reinstall.

Ok, tested the game on a clean install and it works fine. Submited it to the APPDB. Will send you link when the data goes online. Also thanks for letting me know about Colonial Charter for Banished. It is quite a huge mod I must say. Its a bit overwhelming.

Cheers. You can just update post #565 as that's what I've linked to.

No problem. I was surprised by how much was there myself. I still have a game going with an older version of 1 year is 1 year. Once I finish that I think I will give Colonial Charter a spin.
Can anybody help me out with a mono problem. Since I deinstalled Winetricks and reinstalled Wine and Banished I can't get the dxsdk_june2010 package installed which means there is no sound in Banished. Basically its says that there is no mono installed and that the 64 bit version of os is not supported. As much as I understand mono usually fixes that issue.

These are the steps I took:
- deinstall Winetricks,
- deinstall Wine
- physically erase Wine folder,
- sudo apt-get --purge autoremove
- sudo apt-get autoclean
- sudo apt-get clean.

After that reinstalled.

Try the wine-mono package from your distro or another PPA?

Are you running a 64-bit prefix?

I just installed Wine 1.9.9. staging as it came. Didn't change anything. How do I get the 32 bit version.

Edit: Could it be connected with the fact that im running 64 bit Linux version?

Do you have Wine with WoW64 support or are you using a 64-bit version of Wine? If it's the latter then try installing the 32-bit version of Wine and then make a prefix and the 64-bit not supported message should go away :)
