It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Between Sculptis and GameMaker Studio, maybe I'll make that be-all and end-all rpg that I (and everybody else here) have in my head.

Cheers!
Microsoft Expression Web 4

A web development tool, similar (and a great alternative) to Adobe Dreamweaver. The file name may say "Web_Trial" but it's the complete version. It was made free because future version will be incorporated in Visual Studio.

That's well worth the free download. I paid $150 for the full boxed product and I feel it was even worth that amount of money. For free- it's a no-brainer. Grab it while you can!
Thank you! You are awesome! I've been wanting to get this for a long time, but my money situation's been terrible. Now, you have given me a way to legally obtain the standard version of GameMaker for free! The $35 pro upgrade is just the icing on the cake! (As bad as my finances are, I may just be able to shell out that for the pro edition.)

Thanks again!

InkPanther: I know there haven't been new posts here for long time but...
Adobe has made

Studio 2 (CS2) free. The page is currently down, probably because of huge number of
visitors... Anyway, here's a

thread with more links and info.

Crash-lin: It is misunderstanding, it is not freeware. Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available. So if you didn't buy a license you are not allowed to use the software.
Actually when this first started; I think it also had a lot to do with promoting their new Cloud based Software ... PLUS there was an activation (key) on the page which unlocked the software after downloading it ... I installed and put in the key and It worked but they may have changed that now.
Legality (?) ... I DO own some Old adobe software But case in point is moot as it has been uninstalled already after checking it out because what I have recently bought is so much better and easier to use .....

Indeed. I had the Expression Studio suite as well, but only gave real use to Expression Web. But speaking of which:

Microsoft Expression Design 4

A vector graphics editor, similar to CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator. Just like Expression Web 4, it's the complete version (despite the file name) and it's available for free due to future versions being integrated in Visual Studio.
Thank you to everyone for your contributions! Sometime this weekend I will not only clean up and alphabetize the whole list, I'll also add anything that's been suggested since my last update. Sorry it's been so long...life kinda caught up with me.
The Videospin link in the Editing Tools section of Multimedia takes me to Pinnacle Systems.

Panda Cloud Antivirus

Comical (comic viewer)

Always On Top (keeps chosen window on top of all others)
Logon Screen Rotator (changes windows logon screen background periodically)

Tixati (P2P Bittorrent client without advertisements)
BitComet (C++ Bittorrent/HTTP/FTP Download Client with advertisements)
FlashGet

CometBird
QtWeb

SoundLeech

UPDATED! (part 1).

I just went through and alphabetized everything, as well as generally cleaned up the look of the site. Now I need to check for dead links, update descriptions, and add new suggestions. Stay tuned!

(You'll also notice, the address has changed...please update your bookmarks!)
I would disqualify Filezilla (malware in the "optional" apps bundled in the installer) and VMWare Server (many years old, locks you into an early 2.6 kernel). It's a shame about Filezilla. That was one of my favorites. WinSCP is a good alternative to Filezilla, and VirtualBox is a good alternative to VMWare Server.

Kosse himself has claimed that Filezilla is not infected. Numerous users have contradicted his claim. The Sourceforge distribution that Filezilla's own download page directs you to contains an infected version.

I'll change the link for Filezilla to a non-sourceforge installer so there's no adware. I'll also remove VMWare server.
I'm a huge fan of TeamViewer. Remote Desktop and a far more gaming-stable VPN than Hamachi -- especially with older games. So far, TV hasn't failed once while Hamachi fails regularly.

Note to anyone who uses TV for gaming: Completely uninstall Hamachi from your system. It leaves system files on your rig that will keep you from connecting properly even if Hamachi isn't actively running.
OK, all finished!! Give the site a good once-over and see if you notice anything I did wrong. As always, continue to give me more suggestions as you think of them! :)
I've made several attempts to download "VDownloader" and it's 'cousins' and wound up with a malware/virus laden file each time. Found this:

http://www.apowersoft.com/free-youtube-downloader

It's freely available as a desktop app and on-line.
Does many other things than just download from YouTube.
Seems to work perfectly with no ads, adware, viruses or other goodies. :-)
