It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Great list! I've already downloaded a few. Thanks!

But you should add Bulk Rename Utility to the list as well. It's a far superior program to Fast File Renamer, plus it's also x64 native :)

Seeing Potzato's suggestion for a bulk renaming tool reminded me of Métamorphose, which is what I use for that task.

Also, if you're mentioning MariaDB as a replacement for MySQL, perhaps the latter should be there as well? (of course, those that have a use for it most likely know of it already)

MySQL download page.

Heres some of the stuff I;ve been using for ages ...

I've been using IOBit Smart Defrag for ages now and it does the trick. (same folks that do Advanced System Care).

On the subject of Advanced System care - I have had a couple of problems with that - it knocked out Steam for a while on one of my machines.

Real VNC - like Windows Remote Desktop but some people find it smoother (mileage varies)

Qt Creator for development software.

MP3 Book Helper is a really useful tool (if a little geeky) for editing your ID3 Tags on your music collection.

Fraps - for those games that dont have built in frame rate display.

And, since this is a site for old games - WinUAE for emulating an Amiga (you'll need a system image tho')

Updated the first post with alternativeto.net and info on free gaming threads (brianhutchison, you might should post WinUAE on one of those :)

I'll update the list later tonight :) Thanks everyone!
You can also add Clementine under multimedia.

Updated and added some items to the first post :)
OK I'm seeing Treesize now - don't know if I just missed it before

But what about Virtual Clone Drive again? its for mounting ISO images in a virtual optical drive and its by Elaborate Bytes

And for the security section you could add 'combo fix' with is a little shell based utility that kills rootkits that just about everything else misses - apparently you're only suposed to use it under the direction of the folk at BleepingComputer.com but I've got many a computer back on their feet with it without having to consult with anyone...
Updated

I added ComboFix and apparently Slysoft Clone Drive is the same as Elby Clone drive, so I just changed the name on the System Tools page to Slysoft/Elby :)
I found an error. Sumatra (under Office/Programming - PDF readers) actually do have a web browser plugin.
Thanks! :)

Updated
I came here to ask you to remove my previously favourite icon editor since it has become shareware instead of freeware as it was before (it costs US$59!? FTW? (so it's currently on sale, making it "only" $49.99, but still... sheesh)), but found out it wasn't in the list at all.

Instead I'd like to nominate another icon editor I found today and which is almost as user-friendly as the one I was about to ask to remove: Greenfish Icon Editor Pro. It can't create Mac OS X icons though, unlike the one I no longer want to name.

Hmm, ESET NOD32 warns me of a "HTML/ScrInject.B.Gen virus" threat on that page and blocks it.
Internet Explorer and Windows Live Mail are not free to use programs?

Windows Live Messenger is missing too, and Metrotwit for those that use Twitter.

AVG Free is DEFINITELY NOT one of the best free anti-virus programs.

Game Booster should be removed. That crap must be killed.

Also, I'm not seeing Adobe Reader in the PDF Readers section. It is free to use.
