Piranjade: Today might be a good day to type !halloween in chat on the GOGcom twitch channel.
Hmmm, weird. I can get to twitch from the library. I usually can't.

Gotta admit though that the response "We didn't really like *username*" may not be the best response one could have gotten. Someone on staff dropping a hint maybe?

DeMignon: So nothing new in this sale today? Seriously GOG, you've clearly forgot how to make sales interesting. Weekly sales .. boring .. weekly sales without weekend specials .. even more boring .. Halloween sale without interesting updates .. boring after two days. Something definitely changed about 1-2 years ago .. the marketing team used to performed much better in this regard in my opinion.
I agree with you (even though, as you know, they did add a few new bundles and deals). GOG sales aren't what they used to be – heck, even the sale threads used to be a lot more fun and interesting to follow (generally speaking, of course).

Are any of the Sherlock Holmes games any good? From the reviews, they're not.

Kabus: It seems only my GOG connect doesn't detect games since 2 days :/

DemonAk4: I also do not work, does not synchronize 3 days
GOG Support has been fixed my problem with force resyncing. You might need to contact with them if logging out from GOG, cleaning cookies then relogging in (and making sure Steam profile is public) not works.

springtoiffel: I couldn't resist any longer and bought Zodiarcs and Bloodrayne on gog today >_<
sometimes I feel like I "must" play a certain game and all of my other games seem boring to me :D
avatar
CharlesGrey: That's OK, enjoy your games! I'm sure we all feel that way sometimes -- that's why sites such as GOG or Steam make so much money from us, even when we already have hundreds of games. :D
Thanks, I do enjoy them - no regrets! :D

I played The Awakened a few months ago and it has a nice creepy story with well aged (remastered) graphics, but the camera/first person view is a bit clumsy. There are no dead ends or unsolvable puzzles. Hitting the space key will show what things should be investigated further. I would recommend it.

Secret of the Silver Earring: played this years ago, but lost count of the different characters and had to use a walkthrough to progress. iirc it was necessary to solve questions after each scenery. Would not recommend it unless you're a big fan of SH-games.

The best SH-game is still missing on GOG: Case of the Rose Tattoo, wishlist1 & wishlist2

There's still no games showing up on connect for me. I've looked and refreshed the page several times a day since the games were offered. I know people have said to hit the refresh button but there isn't one on the page. All it says is that the account is connected. I have tried 4 different browsers and 2 computers with the same result. Any suggestions?

I have all these games on steam .

Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Deadly Premonition: Director’s Cut
Dracula 4+5
Hand of Fate
Knock-Knock
The Last Door: Collector’s Edition
The Last Door: Season 2 Collector’s Edition
Layers of Fear
POSTAL: Classic and Uncut
Realms of the Haunting
Shattered Haven
SKYHILL
Smugglers V: Invasion
SOMA
Sunless Sea
The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries
The Void
The Walking Dead: Season 1
The Walking Dead: Season 2

Never mind, support reset my account and it worked.

For those who are interested in using GOG's current background as wallpaper here are the links to the images:

Thanks to Vythonaut who made me realize that I'm not the only one who keeps those and to JMich who pointed out that there are png versions available.

The links to the night edition also still work, if sombody didn't catch those.
Let's be fair - it was really good sale! At least for people, who love point&click adventures and crpgs.

There are still some great deals to be checked, don't miss them:
• great prices for Tex Murphy, Sherlock Holmes, Broken Sword bundles
• nice discounts for Dungeons and Dragons Collections
Darkest Dungeon in amazing, historically low price
• Nice prices for bundled Spiderweb crpgs (Avadon & Avernum)
• some interesting single offers for just a few cents: Dracula trilogy, Waxworks, Alone in the Dark trilogy
• a lot of GOG Connect titles to be imported to our favorite library (:

The only problem is that I've reached my GOG Wallet limit and cannot get Sherlock Holmes series, but I really hope the same bundle will be available during Fall or Winter Sale.

Thanks, GOG!

PS. What I didn't like are:
× free game was far from my interest
× missing XP counter made tracking the progress much more complicated, especially for currencies different than USD
× only a few offers was added during the sale, which made the whole update pointless IMO (I've made some effort to check what's new and the result was: almost nothing...)

Oh, crap. Indeed. You're right. So that was the reason!

Purchased LEGO HP's and Noctropolis. The rest of my budget free went on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty on PSN.
