Pics or it is not true! (Of either the shrug or the game)

I seem to not be playing anything right now myself.

Some pics from last night's race in Essington Park (never heard of this track before, i think it's a fantasy track).

Vythonaut: Now, imagine that level but without the ability to quicksave; developers trolling players at its best. :D

Matewis: Oh yes, the lack of quicksaves made a recent playthrough far more annoying in places than I remember :P Back when it first came out I think I was far too impressed with the bullet time to care about having to do fights over and over again :) except, that is, for the dream sequences...
What lack of quicksaves? The PC version always had this feature; perhaps you've played it on a console?

Hmm, could be that I just remembered it wrong since I did play the PC version. I definitely remember playing certain sequences over and over, which is why I thought there might not have been quicksaves. Though come to think of it, even if a game has quicksaves I often try to finish entire encounters without saving inbetween. Stupid point of pride I guess :) So that's probably what I did.

I think it's a quite sensible choice to be honest, but it has nothing to do with pride for me; sometimes you may be totally screwed by misusing the quicksave function. I tend to use both quicksaves & regular saves (the latter serve as failsafe checkpoints in case i need to return back to a certain point).

Having said that, my regular Max Payne (and other games too) playthrough usually lasts twice the usual time that needs to be completed because every time a big encounter ends, i always quickload and play it again by using different weapons etc. Oh, how much i enjoy Max Payne's gameplay! :)

It was the same for me the first time I played Max Payne. I just couldn't get enough of the bullet time combat :) The only other game I can think of right now which I also routinely replayed sections because it was just so good was Batman Arkham Asylum. and Arkham City for that matter.
edit : Oh yes, and definitely F.E.A.R as well

Unfortunately i've never played any of them because their DRM has always been a no-no for me. Hopefully they'll come here at some point.
Finished the first one at work today (network admin job ftw), now onto second part!!

Speak of the devil :)
I still distinctly remember that hospital start. I knocked over some hospital cleaning supplies or something and was incredibly impressed by the detailed physics engine

I skipped the pics on purpose. Really don;t see the point of it. It's just like 5 minutes of pvp over and over again.

That's why it rated a shrug.

Max Payne 2. Stellar game, just like the original.

That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. I've played #1 a few kazzillion times but never #2.

I played it through once not long after it released and I've been looking to give it another playthrough myself. In part to compare it to the first game which I played though again not too long ago, but found had aged more than I expected.

I must have finished them around 10 times each; i'd rate the first with a 10/10 and the second with a 15/10. Completely unbiased. OK, i'm lying. :P
