Well. there is no Star Wars after the prequels (for me)
Rouge One is the only exception to this.

Don t regret this decision, since all ive seen from TFA and TLA
those a meh rehashes of New Hope and Empire Strikes Back instead
of new stories

*shrugs*

doronnorod: After the disaster dumpster fire that the last jedi was, lots of fans said they are DONE with star wars.
It just took one laugh from palpatine to get them back on board.
These are the fans who didn't jump ship. Pretty sure every community which thought 8 was bad thinks 9 will be a dumpster fire.

tremere110: Keep in mind that Kylo Ren is a Skywalker, this could be a movie about his redemption.
He's not a Skywalker, he's Ben fucking Solo. Any bout of mental gymnastics which includes "fuck my dad" is by definition not a redemption.

Judicat0r: If there's still people who haven't watched them here Mauler's videos on TLJ.
hackfraudmedia released a two-parter just last week. I haven't watched it yet (homework) but people are saying it's even better that E;R's.

Judicat0r: Edit: so no, no SW for me from now on until KK, RJ, Story group and other people will have a say in the creative process of the movies.
It's either "while KK, etc... have a say" (or "as long as KK, etc... have a say") or "until KK, etc... don't have a say". No future tense, and mind the negatives.
The moar you know!

darthspudius: No soul in the Marvel films? Why is that? Because they've made so many of them? It's okay not to like them but there's been a lot of effort put into a number of those films and they're very well done (with a few exceptions *cough* Black Panther/Captain Marvel). I would easily watch the Captain America trilogy, Thor Ragnarok, the first Avengers and Infinite War over Return of The Jedi for sure.
I think the problem with Disney movies including SW and Marvel CU is that they are all build on a formula and that "formula" must be adhered to and followed to a tee. You can't make great art via a formula. Great art must be free and only created in the mind of some genius creator with a singular vision. Disney movies are focus-grouped and made by committee. They are the fast food version of the movie industry - nice and inviting but with no real nourishment in it.
The only thing to look forward to is the memes poking holes in what is at this point a leaning tower of swiss cheese on the verge of toppling over from its own ineptitude. But that's current year, aint it? The competence of today's directors and writers keeps reaching new lows as their greatest accomplice cheers them on - the media. Yes siree, the 24/7 Disney news cycle claims it's your civic duty to watch Star Wars, which is totally not poorly disguised corporate popcorn.
Not gonna watch it, I am finished with Star Wars after the Force Awakens. Didn't watch anything after that, but amusingly, all my friends said the Last Jedi was better than it (as opposed to general opinion on internet).
...From what I heard, they are probably right.
Wow that's like Spaceballs bad.

SPOILER ALERT!

Finn is actually Luke's second cousin's uncle's sister's college roommate... twice removed. He's now a Skywalker!

F these guys.

Also, it's like they sit around doing bong rips to come up with scenes: "Yo, yo, yo - you know what would be totally rad and make so much awesome sense! Let's have a lone fighter fly in at ground level against one person, not fire a shot and skim the ground, dude!"

I get it, it's a movie, suspension of disbelief and all that. But everything about that bothers the hell out of me.

And I liked the second trilogy. Phantom Menace kinda sucked but at least it "felt" like Star Wars. These are just skull fucking a dead horse until the last penny falls out.

... though I did smile a bit seeing Lando in the Falcon ;)

Will catch up then.
The level of retardation in this trailer is sky high. Especially the mary sue character Rey.

So she's mastered thousands of generations of kickass knowledge all before she hit 26!I everything about this character grinds my gears from her goofy as hell Capri pants to her ability to master everything instantly.

And why the flip is the TIE Interceptor trying to ram her down... instead of you know.. shooting her with it's freakin lasers?!? It looks fooking idiotic, and once again shows the creators have no clue whatsoever of military tactics.
I think the title is a bit stupid to be honest as it doesn't really fit a film that is supposed to end the Skywalker saga. Lets be honest the Skywalker story was complete in Episodes 1 - 6.
I did enjoy The Force Awakens and to me The Last Jedi didn't feel like a Star Wars film with all the Marvel style humor in it and half of that film was basically a pointless exercise, to me it wasn't a good film!

With Star Wars EP7 - EP9 I think the old saying of be careful what you wish for really applies. I actually think this trilogy makes the prequels much better to watch as they at least felt like Star Wars even when factoring in Jar Jar.

Hesusio: Location checks out.
Well, Darth Vader's mask kind of looked like a German Stahlhelm from WW2, so what can you expect? :-)

I would have been surprised, if it hadn't.
Though as has often been pointed out, the empire in the original trilogy doesn't actually come across as that evil...sure, they destroy that Alderaan planet, but one doesn't really see that, and there are so many other planets in the galaxy, does it really matter?

With so many people in the world, does it really matter if your country murders you for no reason?

Ok, but the point remains that there's not much reason to care about Alderaan...we had never seen it before its destruction, so it all remains pretty abstract.
And apart from Vader, the empire doesn't feel that threatening, the storm troopers are comically inept with their inaccurate blaster rifles.

kalirion: I'll just wait a year or two and watch it on Netflix like I did the last two.
avatar
tomimt: You have to get the new Disney Streaming channel for that from now on. All the Marvel and SW stuff will be exclusive to that. That's why Netflix is cancelling all their Marvel series.
Huh. Guess I won't be watching it then. Will the Marvel series disappear off Netflix, or will they just not produce any new seasons?
